The federal government is back and open for business.
After a 15-day shutdown, Congress passed legislation Wednesday night to fund the government and avert a default, without dismantling the Affordable Care Act.
In response to the deal, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy issued a statement Thursday morning:
While I am pleased that an agreement to end the shutdown has been reached, the fact remains that this is no way to run a government. We simply cannot go from one manufactured crisis to the next, and thats all this deal does put off the hard choices until a later date, so we can go through this nonsense again next year.
The decision in Washington by House Republicans to abdicate their responsibilities as elected officials in order to pursue a fringe ideological agenda has very real implications for states and for the families that live in them. The sad truth is that those most in need are the ones most directly impacted, as we saw in Connecticut when vital Head Start facilities in Bridgeport and across the state unnecessarily faced closure. Republicans in Washington need to get the message they are elected to govern, not to score political points on the backs of those theyre supposed to serve. I wish I could say that I am optimistic that a lesson has been learned, but the truth is Im not.
The way you commie ‘RATS are running it is no way to run a government either. When a machine is out of control and getting ready to melt down, it’s always a good idea to shut it off before doing anything else.
the feral government they mean
Just like depending on gov't petro energy. (or gov't supplied renewable energy)
“We simply cannot go from one manufactured crisis to the next,”
THAT IS OBAMAS MO!!
Next thing you know Mulvaney will accuse Ted Cruz of being responsible for the lousy economy.
Spending $7 trillion that you don’t have is no way to run a government. Of course Malloy should know since his own state leads the nation in state debt per taxpayer.
People were beginning to get the idea that they didnt need all this government to live a good life and that the government didnt actually care about them. Shameful.
“In Politics, Nothing Happens By Accident. If It Happens, You Can Bet It Was Planned That Way” - Franklin D. Roosevelt
Malloy is parroting Obamas lines from his address to the Nation today.
