“say adios Orrin, voters will remove you from your cushy government job chomping at the government trough”

Doubtful. Orrin is 79 years old. He easily overcame a primary challenge and was reelected in 2012 with 65% of the vote despite having been a buddy of Ted Kennedy for years and inside member of the “club”. He won’t face the voters again until 2018 when he’ll be 84 and likely too old to run.

Due to his age, like McCain, Hatch is probably in his last term. Not facing the voters again allows him to do real mischief with no consequences. Plus, having easily beaten back a challenge in 2012 he likely feels invincible should his health allow him to run again in 2018.

Hatch is a prime example of the need for both term limits and age limits.
