Cory Booker to conduct same-sex marriages in New Jersey
CNN ^ | October 18, 2013

(CNN) - Senator-elect Cory Booker will move forward with his support of same-sex marriage even before he is sworn in, with plans to grant the marriages of several same-sex couples 12:01 a.m. Monday after a court ruling goes into effect.

The story was first reported by Buzzfeed. The New Jersey Democrat, who's the mayor of Newark, re-tweeted that article to his celebrity-sized Twitter crowd of 1.4 million followers.

According to Buzzfeed, Booker will recognize the weddings of at least 10 same-sex couples at Newark City Hall.

The weddings will come after a New Jersey judge ruled last month that the already legal civil unions in the state didn't go far enough because they prevented couples from getting federal benefits. In her ruling, the judge cited the June Supreme Court decision that overturned a key part of the federal Defense of Marriage Act.

I had no idea that the legislature passed such a law and the Governor signed it.

Like it or not the Holy Bible condemns it. It goes against nature. Just to think of it is really gross, disgusting, nasty and stomach turning. But mainly it not acceptable to God.

“It affects you, me, and all of us because it affects our civilization. The homosexual/atheist/Communist/Satanist axis wants to destroy Western civilization, so they’re attacking the pillars of our society: faith, family, marriage, language, national borders, patriotism, and so on. When those pillars crumble — and they’re well on their way to that — Western civilization will collapse, and the forces of evil will be able to establish the Satanist/Communist/sexually perverted society they so desperately want.

So yes, your nephew’s so-called “marriage” does affect you...and me. Just as the decision of a young woman in my family to “live as a man” (taking male hormones and everything) with her girlfriend affects me...and you. On a case by case basis, those insane people’s insane decisions may not affect anyone outside their/our heartbroken families. But together, they threaten our society, and that’s why it affects you. And me. And the rest of us.

I will always love that particular young family member, but I do not accept her insanity. She is my enemy in the cultural civil war that’s raging in our Republic. That’s how we have to look at it, as painful as it may be.”

This is a good line of reasoning. And it makes sense. I can already hear their response to it. And don’t get me wrong, we don’t go around discussing this ad nauseum. But I appreciate you taking the time to write it down.

Thanks for the link. Interesting reading there although I have to say the Biblical argument for marriage is strong, that’s not where their objections would lie.

Anyway, thanks again for the link.

I agree with you. 100%. But this is the reason that’s easiest to argue against because of other areas of the Bible that are contradictory or just plain outdated by modern standards. (i.e. Deuteronomy & Leviticus Stoning of Rebellious children etc...)

It’s an argument/debate that you just can’t win. That’s why I am in search of a more tenable position.

It’s also difficult to stand on the traditional definition of marriage because I (and 50% of most others) happened to be divorced. So they claim I am “picking and choosing” my areas of the Bible that I want to believe.

Marriage is between one man and one woman. The bible says so and common sense says so. Children fully deserve to have a mother and a father. Same sex parents should not be raising children. Gay pride parades are out of control and I avoid them. I vote conservative because that’s what’s best for not just me but the United States of America.

One more thing.

I’m gay.

Thanks for chiming in. Let me play devil’s advocate.

Don’t you think you may want to be a Father? If you’re single, and you adopt a child, are you saying this shouldn’t be allowed? What difference does it matter if you are living with a boyfriend (but not married) and raising a child? Don’t you want to be a Dad?

Simply consider it in economic terms.

Gay marriage allows the entry of more couples into the world of marriage and thus devalues marriage much like increasing the money supply devalues the dollar.

A little more close to home. Think about the value of your home and the impact on that value if a married gay couple were to move in next door. How do you sell your house if your gay neighbors are visible while potential buyers are looking at the house you are attempting to sell?

And in a very personal level. What if you were having difficulty with your own marriage. Will the value of your marriage increase or decrease if you know that people in your own community or even your next door neighbors are gay and are married?

Will the value of your children’s education increase or decrease if they happen to go to school with kids who have parents that are involved in gay marriages?

Will that be a distraction to the educational mission of the school?

What if you work for a company that offers Domestic Partner Benefits? Will inclusion of these gays on your company’s health care plan increase or decrease the cost of your insurance?

We all sin, but it is the repenting and turning from that sin that makes us able to fellowship with God. For in Him we have redemption through His blood, and the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.
They want your acceptance because they haven’t God’s acceptance and their hearts tell them this. Even if you said all the words they want to hear it won’t make them happy. You have the Light in you and they see it.
They have a sin problem just as we all do. We are all able to go to God and ask forgiveness, but we must have that change of heart about sin to please God. The argument needs to be are they in Christ. Do they have fellowship with Him. Are they trusting in Him?

seems now the supreme court has ruled that they have to now do sham marriages.

Did Christie’s supreme court judge rule in favor of this sham too?

tell them that putting a penis into a hole constantly which puts out feces is sick, unhealthy and not natural.

Having sex with feces is not normal either
