U.S. debt jumped more than $300 billion on Thursday, the first day the federal government was able to borrow money under the deal President Obama and Congress sealed this week. The debt now equals $17.075 trillion, according to figures the Treasury Department posted online on Friday. So, Obama has racked up more debt than every President before him combined.

UM!!!! HELLO OUT THERE!!

But under the terms of this week’s deal, Congress set a deadline instead of a dollar cap. That means debt can rise as much as Mr. Obama and Congress want it to, until the Feb. 7 deadline.

DAMN!! Was this just another bill that we had to pass before we knew what was in it?

Wasn’t it just a few days ago that Obama stated flatly that raising the debt ceiling would not raise the debt?

The man is insane.

The spending is actually authorized by Congress. Without Congress being saddled with the principle responsibility, no change will happen.

Complaints about a President’s actions are always ignored by those that support him. Getting the larger view that Congress, as a whole, is to blame can gradually become an understood mindset by the low information voter.

And didn’t a prominent republican state that the Tea Party was on a fool’s errand?

Collusion. Destruction. Fascism.

Gee, what happened?
My Savior Obama told us that raising the debt ceiling wouldn't necessarily mean a debt increase. He wouldn't lie, so what went wrong?
Did the Tea Party steal $300 Billion, or was it Bush?

Ridiculous! How in the world will this ever be paid? This is criminal putting all of this on our future children. We are going the way of Greece.

By more taxes and fees?
By reducing future SS payments?
Reducing medicare expenditures?

Now that the capitulation is complete he has an AMEX black card with no spending limit. Kind of like selling $500,000 houses to people making min wage knowing there’s no way it’ll ever get paid back. Thanks bronco. Cause he don’t care. Ain’t his money.

Obama doesn’t care about the debt or the future of our nation.

Credit card bills don't count against the household debt if you don't open them and hide them under the couch.

We no longer have a debt limit. They can spend as much as they like now.

Seems to me IIRC, in2008 the press went ballistic on Bush because he had a 400 billion dollar deficit. By the end of 2009 the POS Soetoro had ratched it up to 1.2 trillion. Funny how the media missed that.
