GOP Establishment Lost All Credibility In Fiscal Fight

To fully understand the state of play in the Republican party, look no further than Sens. Mike Enzi (WY) and Pat Roberts (KS). Both are reliable, mainstream conservatives, yet neither have a record of seeking a fight or standing on principle. Think Orrin Hatch, without the tab-collars. Both, however, stood with Ted Cruz in the fight over ObamaCare. Not coincidentally, both face serious primary challengers. Sen. Mike Enzi is being challenged by Liz Cheney, who criticizes his "go-along-to-get-along" approach to government. Sen. Pat Roberts, who helped guide HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius through the nomination process, is being challenged by doctor, and Obama cousin, Milton Wolf. Nothing in their legislative record suggests they would have sided with Sens. Cruz and Mike Lee but for these primary challenges.

While most of the media and the GOP establishment try to pin blame for the recent fiscal stand-off on conservatives and the Tea Party, in reality the debate shows how bankrupt the GOP establishment has become. Senators, who serve six-year terms, spend most of their time in office immune from voters. They often get caught up in the world of DC salons. As the ballot box approaches, however, they affect a more conservative posture.

We all remember how Sen. John McCain, a vocal advocate now for amnesty, took a decidedly different tact when running for reelection.

Safely reelected, McCain led the establishment Republican charge against Sen. Ted Cruz. Just moments after Cruz ended his epic 21-hour speech against ObamaCare, McCain took to the Senate floor to trash the freshman Senator. This came just months after McCain and his doppelganger Sen. Lindsey Graham attacked Sen. Rand Paul for raising legitimate concerns about the Obama Administration's use of drones.

Like when did they have any? Not in my book. That is one of the many thousands of reasons I left the RINO party and refuse to give them a dime. I might give to an individual candidate, but not the party.

You know the frauds on the left have conference calls each morning to discuss the days PROPAGANDA. This dude sounds like he was tapping their line.

We need new GOP leadership.

With rare exception, nearly all who enter the DC beltway end up drifting left. It is the nature of popular government.

From the column: Senators, who serve six-year terms, spend most of their time in office immune from voters.

Our Fabulous Framers rolled in their graves when America made a huge mistake, the 17th amendment. Not only did it kick the states out of the federal government, it gave six year terms to elected officials. Both are anathema to the careful and superb system they created.

It is way past time to admit the error and restore federalism before it is too late.

Yes, the 17th was a mistake, but it’s what the Socialists wanted: to dilute the power of the States. Democratic mobs are so much easier to stir up.

Says it all. As Sarah Palin might say, only dead fish go with the flow. We need more live ones. Anyone can vote right on a safe vote, but go AWOL when the vote really matters. Lets get someone who just might "stand on principle" once in awhile.

Let's not replace a disgusting democrat Senator (Jay Rockefeller) with a squishy alleged republican.

Let's support constitutional conservative Pat McGeehan for US Senator from West Virginia

“I signed the ‘Don’t Fund Obamacare’ pledge with the Senate Conservatives Fund earlier last month and I stand by that pledge; a pledge that my opponent, Shelley Moore Capito, has yet to sign,” stated Pat McGeehan. “Doctors are being forced to retire early, while businesses are forced to reduce employees’ hours in West Virginia all due to the implementation of Obamacare. It’s time to take a stand and defund Obamacare today."

The 2008 Romney campaign member, Liz Cheney, has promoted gay marriage, supported homosexualizing the military, opposed DOMA and an Amendment to protect marriage, and is pro-abortion with no pro-life statements to her name until this campaign.
