New concerns are being raised about so-called ObamaCare "navigators" following a string of reports about the questionable backgrounds of those selected to guide Americans through what is shaping up to be a rocky roll-out of the health care law.
The concerns come on top of the drama over the HealthCare.gov site itself, which is the main federal hub for would-be participants and has been riddled with technical problems. The "navigators" are outreach workers, funded by federal taxpayer dollars, who are supposed to help people sign up for coverage.
The Daily Caller reported earlier this week that one "enrollment assister" in Lawrence, Kan., had an outstanding warrant for her arrest as well as a troubled financial history. The Heartland Community Health Care Center, where she works, later confirmed to the Caller that she had a bench warrant for an "unpaid medical debt" -- but had been unaware of the warrant. The group said she worked with the courts to satisfy it, and the warrant is "no longer active."
Still, the incident raised questions about the background check process, and spurred Kansas state Sen. Mary Pilcher-Cook to push legislation increasing oversight on those assisting the public with enrolling in the exchanges. Her bill would require background checks and licensing for anybody doing that work in Kansas.

These “Navigators” are no different than the rest of the assorted low lifes associated with the Democrat Party, many of whom hold high elective or appointed political office. These are the people running the country these days.
Just another indirect form of graft.
Betcha these are folks McD’s would not hire.
I said months ago what was going to be hired.
Acorn, SEIU, Affirmative action.
Somebody doubted that??? LMAO.
Obama voters White need not apply.
Everybody knew “payoffs” to favored groups were coming. Why should any report confirming this be of surprise? We are a corrupt nation, starting at the top.
Absolutely. And few people really care. We are truly living in a banana republic.
And to acknowledge that fact, I suggest that the Washington Redskins be renamed the Washington Bananas.
The people you hire as “navigators,” or “helpers” are part of the system - the way Apple has helpers and educators in their stores to assist customers.
Any private company responsible for such a fiasco would have been disgraced and out of business and facing all sorts of legal problems by now.
These legal problems will be exacerbated because of the apparent absence of generally accepted security procedures - defective screening of personnel, no editing controls for input data, no consistency checks for stored data, holes and vulnerabilities that allow hacking, etc. The problems afflicting the system will be very difficult to fix because of all the defective data that is getting into the system and corrupting it.
Will the government be forced to face up to this fraud that they have perpetrated on Americans?
“Navigators” = “Fight Club”
But the republicans made sure that everyone’s income will be verified. Wasn’t that nice!
Caught part of a panel discussion on Obamacare on C-Span today - some guy who was apparently a legitimate insurance agent in California said that several thousand “navigators” there had already gotten their permits to peddle policies as part of the program, while thousands like himself who had been doing it for a living for years still had their applications pending - amazing - the corruption favoring those with ties to the administration goes on and on - hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars that could be best used for actually paying for healthcare goes into the pockets and bank accounts of Obama henchmen - I hope my stomach can hold out for the next three years.....
