I probably will visit next year or so. I don’t plan on relocating there: I couldn’t deal with your oddly horrible gun carry laws. I don’t mind it for a visit but it wouldn’t work for me long term.

Which marxist don’t y’all like? Groucho, Zeppo, or Harpo?

Ted Cruz wasn’t defeated, the GOPE was.
I agree, he has moved an awoken the downtrodden TEA Party members who thought all was lost. I hoped Obama Care could be defunded. But I knew with old RINOs in Washington it wasn’t going to happen. What Rafael Cruz did in waking up those, who properly inspired, TEA Party folks will be nothing short of amazing come election time. The only way the American people will be defeated is if the opposition cheats and how deep their deception goes.

I fear the elite in Washington know what is going to happen having seen it before so they have sent their people out to counter it with continued voter fraud. I was called by Harris County to work the upcoming Mayoral election. After last time I decided no more. But then I thought about the Cruz/Dew Hurst runoff and that man who drove from Dallas to Houston just so he could vote for Cruz, and I changed my mind. We need to do the little things consistently to take this country back.

If a highly principled, very articulate, very smart and fearless Hispanic man can’t weather the media nuclear attack, we may learn through this that no one can.

Can we say Allen West?

Super RINO Rep. Peter King did an interview with Fox earlier this p.m. and trashed Cruz with a vociferousness not even reserved for Democrats.

This is silly. The idea that Ted Cruz shut the government down is ridiculous.

True and and no one picks 100%. So far I love my sen Cruz. However he is new. Before we take a bullet for him lets watch and see how it goes. So far the only two who have practiced what they preached have been Sarah and Ted. However she has a long track record. He is so far so good. And He also supported Ayotte.

I admire Ted Cruz and feel bad that all the pussy Republicans abandoned and betrayed him

Cruz knows that if you are unpopular INside the Beltway, you will be VERY popular OUTside the beltway!

Well, we are friendly folks, mostly. So, you’re welcome to visit as long as you want just so you mind your manners. What is it about our gun laws that you couldn’t deal with? Are they too liberal or too stringent for you? Btw, I like all the Marx brothers - not to be confused with Marxists which I can’t tolerate. Are you a Marxist? Also, where abouts do you live? Just curious :)

The Dallas Morning News daily prints letters to the editor from the liberals in Texas just pummeling Cruz. Every now and then they print a pro Cruz. Makes me so mad tempted to cancel.

Because Cruz stayed away from the personal attacks, he made Obama and Hairy Reed look small and juvenile.

Texas is one of the last bastions of REAL America. We need to keep it that way. I’m seriously thinking of moving there.

“What is it about our gun laws that you couldn’t deal with? Are they too liberal or too stringent for you?”

FAR too stringent. I openly carry the Tools of Liberty, and Texas does not allow that. Hence the demonstration at the Alamo earlier today. Wish I could have been there to help. Texas, while it does allow concealed carry, has one of the more expensive and difficult to obtain “shall issue” permits in the country. For comparison’s sake, the new Illinois permit costs roughly the same as the Texas permit does ($150 versus $140). Which is roughly 3 times the maximum for a Virginia permit (varies by locality but cannot be more than $50).

I’m not a marxist or even a ‘rat anymore. I left in the 07-08 timeframe. I keep the site handle for nostalgia.

We're all gung-ho for a male conservative leader but were sorely lacking when his female equivalent was being attacked and besmirched. Just strikes me as odd. Don't get me wrong, I'm very happy with my senator, but dismayed at some conservatives.

Thanks for the reply.....I was gung ho about Sarah too, but when she dropped out of the running, it soured me a bit.

I think she's great....but I hope we have that someone in Cruz who won't stop, quit or give up...(and the pressure will be, is already, on him like it was on her

We need him to stay the course.

“Dropped out of the running” you say? I assume you’re referring to a race for the Republican nomination for the presidency? How does one drop out of a race that one never entered in the first place? Or did I miss something?

Cruz has already taken a lifetime’s worth of verbal bullets from all sides for defending the Constitution in a few short months. I think he’s one of the rare cats who can’t be scared. That’s what is driving the progressives nuts. Bob

Vet, I think that Sarah’s problem was that she had to remain quiet while personal attacks rained on her head during the campaign. Also, she had to read some idiotic script which she would never write, after her phenomenal convention speech which she DID write. They reigned her in so as to not embarrass Juan, and also to dampen enthusiasm for HER, since they knew that, like Cruz, she is the real deal. Ted suffers no such shackles.
BOTH are great leaders and treasures, but I believe that Ted is a better candidate b/c he is so cool and unflappable.

While waiting for the Atlanta subways to start up again at 5 am, I stayed at the Greyhound terminal and listened to the talking heads on CNN going psychotically overboard over Ted Cruz, doing all but chanting “Ted Cruz! Ted Cruz! Booga Booga! Ted Cruz!” and hanging and burning him in effigy. That itself suggests to me that he’s a stand-up guy.

They do not fear Mr. Cruz’s personal wrath, but that of his supporters and the possibility of a primary fight if they criticize him.

Distinction without a difference.

Good article, worth reading in its entirety. The following snippet makes me think that this is precisely the outcome we'd like to see on a national basis. Be afraid of Ted Cruz's supporters, because we aren't confined to Texas and we will hold you to account for your criticism.

The doubts from Texas Republicans invariably play out behind closed doors. They do not fear Mr. Cruz’s personal wrath, but that of his supporters and the possibility of a primary fight if they criticize him. Mr. Cruz won his Senate seat by defeating one of the most powerful Republicans in Texas, Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, a victory that exposed the ideological split between moderate establishment Republicans and the younger, more aggressive and conservative movement of grass-roots activists and Tea Party supporters.
