Just secede already: The obstructionists aren’t going anywhere. Maybe we should

We don't want to live in Ted Cruz's America. He doesn't like ours. Maybe a split really is inevitable — and right

Yes, I know Michele Bachmann is from Minnesota and Steve King is from Iowa, but all this proves is that in the 150 or so years since the Civil War, the vituperative Confederate agenda of anti-Americanism has managed to spread its irresistible redneck poison into benighted pockets across the country. Kind of like Waffle House.

But to deny that the current attack on the federal government isn’t part of the hidebound Confederate agenda is to ignore the people who have engineered it and whose sedition will be rewarded with reelection

Much as Kentucky’s Mitch McConnell did in 2010 when he said that the “single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president,” Meadows’ legislative gambit revealed a man and a party absorbed in a classic state of Southern pique. It’s a pathology sadly worthy of Calhoun and his whole sorry legacy of tantrum-throwing quack parliamentarians who want to continue enjoying all of the benefits that come with being part of the United States without having to make any of the necessary sacrifices or compromises.

Geographically, we only need two states. LibState would be made up of the nation’s metropolitan areas and Right-State would be everywhere else. So be it we have islands.

Actually, separating the territory once known as “the United States of America” into distinct republics reflecting the political disposition of the majority within those districts, and following Congressional districts rather than state boundaries, would result in one nearly contiguous “red” electoral country, and a number of much smaller “blue” electoral republics, clustered on the East and West coasts, and part of the so-called “Rust Belt” surrounding the Great Lakes. There may also be some really isolated pockets in and around cities notorious for their ultra-progressive public universities or their history as the state capital, but their very isolation would soon result in their dissolution as a separate republic and reabsorption into the “red” country.

The “blue” republics would soon find, that without the flow of revenue and tribute from the surrounding “red” country, they sink into a real cesspool of despair and anarchy, much like Detroit already has become.

“America” has come to mean some very different things to any number of people, and today, there is little agreement as to just what constitutes “American ideals”.

The Confederacy wasn’t racist, it was status quo. Lincoln was one of the biggest racist there ever was. Need I quote Lincoln on his plan to deport ALL blacks or how he thought the black man would always be the inferior?

I would be LOL at this nonsense if it were not so pervasive and pernicious. The ultra extremists have turned the language on its heads and are calling mainstream Americans all the things THEY are-extremist, scary, haters, name-callers, religious fanatics (their religion being progressivism).

Talk about projection!!! Their psychological projectiion is enough to cause physical projection.

Thompson is too stupid to realize that many conservatives grew up as members of the left, and we know it from the inside. The New Left was rabidly anti-American, and those are the people who are now running the media and the Democratic Party. To cite just one example, it was Rev. Wright, Obama's "spiritual father," who casually spoke of AmeriKKKa and "our chickens coming home to roost" on 9/11. One more: Michelle Obama, the First Lady, said that her husband's election was the first time she ever felt proud to be an American.

As for secession, I clearly recall all the talk among libs that the Pacific Northwest should split off from America and become a separate country called Cascadia.

And then there was all the talk by libs when Bush was president about how they were going to leave the country, how he wasn't their president, and how ashamed they were of a country that elected people like him and Reagan, that we are a nation of morons, etc.

Session to be taken seriously, some would argue it can never be taken seriously, has to be done state by state. A lot of northerners know that and know they would be “left behind” in Socialist Utopia™. Sorry but move you asses South.

This guy (the author) has gone full retard, in public. Sheesh, trying to equate us with all the bad connotations of the Confederacy etc.

If any libtards want to secede they are more than welcome to take their liberal cesspools and go. Here's the thing though. There will be no monetary aide, in fact no aide of any kind coming from real America. There will be no immigration for you. Once you've decided to live in the progressive liberal paradise you create, you will be staying there. You will not be allowed to change your mind and immigrate back to real America, ever. We don't want your idiotic, unworkable ideas and ideals to pollute our political landscape ever again.

So, any libtards want to go live in someplace like that? I'm sure there are a few true believers out there. But most libtards, once they realize they won't be allowed to live off the successes and fruits of others' labor, lordly distributing it as they see fit...well, they back out fast.

It is indeed no accident that the red and blue state idea was deliberately flipped to eliminate the association between liberalism and communism. “Red” always indicated leftism.

That's not what I was saying at all. Yes, in the mid-19th century most white American were racist, even Lincoln, and I know all about his colonization plan.

The point here is that the libs are trying to convince low info voters that the southern Confederacy was the only racist element in America at that time, and that by associating the TEA Party movement with it, they are planting seeds in the backs of those voters minds that the TEA Party is in effect racist too, when it clearly is not.

They can have fiat currency and the Fed; we’ll have PM based currency.
They can keep the welfare cases, bureaucrats, and government teachers; we’ll have productive citizens, rule of law, and home and private schools
They can have government granted rights; we’ll have natural rights.
They can have victim disarmament zones; we’ll have the right to defend ourselves with firearms.
It won’t take long to see which society will prosper.

Fair enough, Mr. Thompson. I prefer subtraction, so we're kicking you and yours out of the Union. Ya' all can come back in when you've learned to stand on your own hind legs, without sucking the life blood out of what few producers this nation has left. Also, you will have to swear allegiance to "one nation under God," without wincing, or crossing yer' fingers behind yer' back. Adios.
