What I see lining up to happen is that they will cobble something together that will (finally) let people log on to the website and enter in their application data trouble free and voila! They'll pronounce it fixed, meanwhile the rest of the system remains broke as hell and non-functional. It's all about appearances to fool the non-technical and low info voter crowd. Guarantee you this is the "fix" they're going for.

Yes. The only parts of the 'system' they care about are the smoothness of the public interface, the capture of your personal data and the voter registration. If the rest doesn't work it ain't no nevermind to them.
