Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush sat down with ABC News Chief White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl on Sunday for a discussion about the Republican tactics which led to the government shutdown. Bush said that he sympathizes with Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) desire to defund the Affordable Care Act, but advised hi m to exercise a “bit of self-restraint” when it comes to tactics.

Bush began by taking aim at Cruz’s tactics. He observed that the GOP actually lost ground with the public over the course of the shutdown and ironically made significantly reforming the ACA that much harder.

“Tactically it was a mistake to focus on something that couldn’t be achieved,” Bush said.

During the Bush years we had the White House, the House of Representatives, and the Senate and we had, not Obamacare, but prescription drug entitlements, Runaway spending, the federalization of education, soaring deficits, and a mountain of debt.

In other words, whatever we got, it wasn't "self restraint."

I hoping that five years from now, Ted Cruz will no longer be a United States Senator.

Five years from now, I’m hoping Ted Cruz will be the President of the United States of America.

I hope you and your fellow Texans don’t mind sharing this fine man with the rest of the country.

They’re always wanting to “keep the powder dry” so they can fight the next time. Then, they never do fight.

Go away RINO Amnesty Pimp

Mind your manners. After all, you are talking about Bush Part 3, the GOP's 2016 presidential nominee. You know, the one that the GOP establishment will put up to lose to Hillary.

"It is amazing how McCain, Jeb Bush, and the rest of the RINOs are only criticizing REPUBs these days. Not a word about RAT policies trashing the country and hurting people."

Remarkable, isn't it!

Some people are calling for a third party. I think we already have one.

Democrats. (R)

Republicans.(D)

RINOs and other Detritus. (R) and (D)

The evening after these comments were made by Mr. Bush, Ted Cruz received an 8 minute standing ovation in San Antonio which to my amazement was reported on our evening news. San Antonio is home to the Alamo. Which, incidentally, was the location of a battle that really was “tactically impossible”.

"He observed that the GOP actually lost ground with the public over the course of the shutdown and ironically made significantly reforming the ACA that much harder."

Well, what did you do during this time, Jeb? Anything? (besides work in secret to push amnesty and bash members of your own party, that is). Did you go on the Sunday shows and hammer away at Obamacare? Did you scold members of your party (McCain, Peter King) who spent all their time trashing Conservatives, instead of publicly focusing on Obamacare? You're a pompous fraud.

Enough of these lazy Establishment Republicans...

Jeb, you and your GOPe buddies have been showing “a little restraint” for far too long...That’s why the country and the republican party are in the sh*tcan now.....

Cruz could really nail Jeb Bush by responding that, “Stop campaigning for president, because conservatives will not support you, no matter what Karl Rove says.”

And if Jeb fires back at him, he could say, “Why are your establishment backers so hateful to conservatives that they would back a socialist Democrat instead of a conservative Republican?”

It's like in the old days when you were developing a photograph. You'd be in the darkroom developing the picture and you'd put the photographic paper in the chemical wash, allowing the image to slowly appear.

The RINOs are appearing.

Self-restraint? Like Jeb had in the Terri Schiavo murder? Yeah. That’s a winning strategy. /s

The leftist progressives fight for what they want while mushy spines like Jeb Bush give in. Sixty+ years of it. American culture has been eroded into something unrecognizable. I don’t think Jeb Bush will ever decide something is worth fighting for. Very sad.

Had our founders thought that way we'd still be picking cotton for the King. Poor Jeb, is ANYTHING worth fighting for?

Jeb did you exercise any restraint with Terri Schiavo? You may not remember her; but a lot of folks out here do. Just go away.
