Posted on 10/21/2013 11:38:03 AM PDT by Kaslin
Disaster, embarrassment, humiliating and train wreck are just a few of the colorful terms being used to describe it. The Obama administrations incompetent half-billion-dollar rollout of its incompetent multi-trillion-dollar signature achievement is but a tragic metaphor for this mans entire presidency. (Its not hyperbole when its true.)
Nearly three weeks in and the utopian promise of affordable care for all has yielded but a handful of folks whove even been able to sign up for this clinic in socialism.
That Obamacare something billed as a health-care panacea for the collective is something that the collective neither asked for, nor wanted, is now the back story. That it has failed so fantastically in every respect, has taken center stage.
Reuters reports: In its third week of operations, the [Obamacare] website continues to experience problems, which government officials say they are working day and night to repair. Even allies of the Obama administration have been highly critical, with former White House press secretary Robert Gibbs calling it excruciatingly embarrassing and calling for some people to be fired.
Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus, D-Mont., was both a sponsor of and cheerleader for Obamacare. He saw this coming. Once he read this 2,400-page regulatory monstrosity, he came to the same conclusion as did anyone else with two synapses to rub together. He called the implementation of Obamacare a huge train wreck and announced that, rather than resulting in his re-election, Obamas pet government health-care albatross would sink him into retirement.
Still, the few who have somehow managed to enroll in Obamacare are discovering, to their dismay, what many of us have warned all along: There is nothing affordable about the paradoxically named Affordable Care Act. Though government geeks may be working day and night to fix the website, no amount of work will fix Obamacare itself. Its unfixable. The only solution is to total-out this jalopy.
Even the Obamanistas are waking up. Just days before its launch, Politico lamented, The Obamacare that consumers will finally be able to sign up for next week (they werent) is a long way from the health plan President Barack Obama first pitched to the nation.
Millions of low-income Americans wont receive coverage. Many workers at small businesses wont get a choice of insurance plans right away. Large employers wont need to provide insurance for another year. Far more states than expected wont run their own insurance marketplaces. And a growing number of workers wont get to keep their employer-provided coverage.
The presidents like-minded base the hardcore left has also become restless. In a recent End of Day report, Gary Bauer, founder of Campaign for Working Families, gives one example from the left-wing Daily Kos.
Bauer writes: Obamacares continued horrendous rollout (See next item) will likely cause the scales to fall from many eyes. Even some liberals are questioning Obamacare. [Warning: Graphic language.] We need to make sure that friends and family members who bought into the hype about hope and change know that it doesnt have to be this way. We can do better.
The good news if you can call it that is that Obamacare is non-discriminating. Its putting the screws to every American rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, liberal and conservative.
In the above-referenced Daily Kos piece, headlined Obamacare will double my monthly premium (according to Kaiser), liberal blogger Tirge Caps captures the shock experienced by most Americans even progressive Americans over the promise of Obamacare vs. the reality of Obamacare:
"My wife and I just got our updates from Kaiser telling us what our 2014 rates will be. Her monthly has been $168 this year, mine $150. We have a high deductible. We are generally healthy people who dont go to the doctor often. I barely ever go. The insurance is in case of a major catastrophe.
Well, now, because of Obamacare, my wifes rate is going to $302 per month and mine is jumping to $284.
I am canceling insurance for us and I am not paying any f***ing penalty. What the hell kind of reform is this?
Oh, OK, if we qualify, we can get some government assistance. Great. So now I have to jump through another hoop to just chisel some of this off. And we dont qualify, anyway, so whats the point?
I never felt too good about how this was passed and what it entailed, but I figured if it saved Americans money, I could go along with it.
I dont know what to think now. This appears, in my experience, to not be a reform for the people.
What am I missing?
I realize I will probably get screamed at for posting this, but I cant imagine I am the only Californian who just received a rate increase from Kaiser based on these new laws."
Not only will you get screamed at, Mr. Caps, but you may want to prepare for an unexpected IRS audit. America feels your pain, my friend.
The proof is in the Obamacare pudding.
And Obamacare is poison pudding indeed.
Well, the problem here is clear. This Kos Krazy is OBVIOUSLY a racist that hates the idea of a black President!!
See how easy that was to settle?
I dont know what to think now. This appears, in my experience, to not be a reform for the people.
What am I missing?
A brain, would be my first guess.
What kind of imbicile is this person? Even applying the most simple logic to the entire premise of Obamacare should've told anyone who looked at this objectively (and not through rose-colored glasses of feel-good liberalism), there was no way you could offer something for nothing. There's no free lunch, and Obama can't re-write the laws of supply and demand.
Ok, so lemme get this straight MSM. Dems feel crush of Obamacare. American People are mad as hell at Obamacare because they are the one’s actually getting crushed. Yet, Republicans oppose and try to stop its implementation or, at the very least, simply insist that Congress is subject to the same rules. The dems say no and force a shutdown. Yet, said people hate Republicans and want them removed from office.
As per post #6
‘A brain, would be my first guess.’
Thats the missing ingredient in all this...
They want to know what I am falling out of my chair laughing at, over here.
His little feet!
“Nothing to worry out about.”
Unh-oh. The fit is about to hit the shan.
Corruption augmented with incompetence.
Snake oil salesmen have more moral scruples.
I suspect that most of the people trying to sign up are the something-for-nothings. There are very few of the nothing-for-somethings.
Obama: “Why don't we just delay the implementation? Its a mess and it doesn't look good for us.”
Reid: “Oh we can't do that. We just fought a hard battle against the Republicans in the House to prevent this from happening. We shut down the government and blamed the Republicans. We'd look like fools if we were to delay it now!”
So, they'll ram it down the throats of the American people in spite of it being a complete mess.
In 1987, the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee was taking on the question of whether there should be a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Economist Milton Friedman was one of the men who testified on its behalf. During a question and answer period with then-Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-Ma), the discussion got a little heated. Friedman said to the senator. "Socialism has not worked in a thousand years of recorded history, why don't you give it up."Well, Ted, I will assume you had a big hand in writing this monstrosity, and people just like you are "running it" now,
Kennedy got up from his chair and replied the following to Friedman: "The reason socialism has failed for a thousand years is because they didn't have me running it." This exchange is recorded in the Congressional Record.
and it's a BIGGER FAILURE than every other time its ever been tried.
Peter Doocy of Fox News reported earlier that 0bama had said in his speech today to call an 800 number and ask for help. Peter Doocy said he tried the number, but the operator told him she was not allowed to give information out.
I think that's the final word on it. It will never work any better than this. It will cost more and more for less and less. And it will never go away.
Not only that, they let the Dems toss in all kinds of pork projects without even trying to stop it. The Repubs will probably get blamed for that, too! I'm sure the media will blame them if the public starts to complain.
And thus America discovers Barry’s dirty little secret.
He ain’t even a competent Socialist.
Lets see if they can figure it out. I am not holding my breath.
LOL....it’s even worse than that, I bet.
I don’t think they’re sufficiently motivated, because they don’t think it will affect them personally.
It is nothing that cant be fixed with good old American government hard work and know-how. We sent a man to the moon, but not recently.
Obama says he might have to take over the house first to pass some fixes to it, like medicare for all, and to get rid of sequester, and to avoid more shutdowns, and to collect more revenues to pay for it. But the day of the 'uninsured' is near.
But the important thing is for the Fedgov to ‘offer’gov certified health insurance to everyone, even if they dont want or need it.(' you better sign up or else free rider!')
Bwaaahahahahahahahahahaha! These socialist and communist nincompoops are such deluded morons. It is somewhat entertaining to watch them squirm and whine as their perfect-world view collapses around them. I just can’t wait to hear there comments when some “doctor” from east equatorial africa “treats” them for an illness. May parasites invade them often. Bwahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
I hope “teddy” is enjoying the “roaster”. History will damn him for many things, including selling out the country to illegal aliens. What a complete loser of a human (or subhuman).
Obastard’s being retarded isn’t what bugs me. No, what pisses me off is how he thinks *we* are.
He won the swing states so now he lectures GOP and Tea Party to win elections if they are unhappy with what he is doing. .
There are about 40 to 45% die hards.
Yeah, I liked the sly little smile he shot after he said that. Always rubbing noses in it. Always with the victory laps and end-zone dances. Always spiking the ball. "In yo face, CHUMP!" A true asshole, in every variation of the definition of the word.
Yep, see if I was a congressional GOP who didnt like Obama I would wait and feed his words right back to him at the right time to trap the MSM or Dems.
This is why Repubs fail so miserably. Here is a grand opportunity to offer a better alternative, one that will actually help reduce costs, and what do they do? Try to force a defunding of ZeroCare with nothing to offer to replace it, only to fold like cheap lawn chairs and throw in the towel and quit. [snip]You seem to accept the progressives' demand that fedgov has to do something. Sorry, but that is still supporting big, intrusive governmant.
That's what I mean by an opportunity for Repubs to get out in front of the ZeroCare mess.
He'll get used to paying the extra...Just like the rest of us have been doing for years....lol
As a conservative, my first thought would be to deregulate as much of the health industry as possible - you know, get the government out of the medical business
That’s what I mean by an opportunity for Repubs to get out in front of the ZeroCare mess.
Ah, I misunderstood your post.
I agree with that — an alternative that requires less regulation/less govt. interference. A lot less!
“The reason socialism has failed for a thousand years is because they didn’t have me running it.”
Do you have an actual link? I’ve only been able to find that in FR and the NJLP site.
Lots of links if you search on these terms:
“congressional record milton friedman ted kennedy socialism”
The actual quote was that socialism has always failed because it didn’t have ME to run it.
What an arrogant ass.
