DANVERS (WHDH) -- A 14-year-old student is in custody after a teacher was found murdered at Danvers High Schools.

Danvers Public Schools were closed Wednesday. The Essex District Attorney’s office said it was due to an ongoing homicide investigation.

Danvers has five elementary schools, a middle school and a high school. Essex District Attorney said the schools are closed primarily for the investigation and that there is no risk to the public or children.

Overnight, there were reports of a missing teen. The DA confirmed that the missing Danvers teen was found safe Wednesday morning.

They’ve scheduled a news conference for 9 o’clock Wednesday morning. 7News will have that news conference live.

Officials said Massachusetts law prevented them from describing the relationship between Ritzer and Philip Chism, the 14-year-old student, accused of killing her in a second-floor bathroom and then dragging her body into the woods.

Do they mean, "a personal relationship, as in maybe sexual" or do they mean, were there bad feelings, anger, discipline incidents, involving the two?

It would be terrible if this poor young murdered woman is being slandered by implication.

I’m sure it is just the drive by media protecting the little boy. He slaughtered the white teacher.

that was the 14 yr old student reported missing; they didn’t say if he’s also the suspect but prob is—she never made it home (Andover) and phone calls to her cell went unanswered; he also prob never made it home and was found walking on rt 1 in Topsfield, again would guess he is the suspect. State law prevents someone’s name being released as they’re a minor (maybe later) and i guess a new state law may make it easier for him to be charged as an adult

They operate schools like interment camps extending their reach even to off campus and off hours into the students homes, vacations a private life’s and they demand total compliance and then they are shocked and surprised when there in blowback and rebellion. I’m surprised that there is not more.
