Juan Williams: You know, itís the GOPís fault that Healthcare.gov flopped
Hotair ^ | 10/23/2013 | Ed Morrissey

Posted on 10/23/2013 7:19:17 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Juan Williams has a clear grip on responsibility for the failure of a program that got passed in Congress with no Republican votes, and implemented with no Republican management in a Democratic administration. Williams claims that the White House would have delayed the rollout of ObamaCare’s exchanges except for the opposition of the GOP to the program as a whole. As a result, Williams argues, Barack Obama and Kathleen Sebelius had no choice but to lie about the exchanges and let it unfold.

Come on — you knew the media would eventually get around to this argument. You just didn’t expect to hear it first on Fox (via Twitchy):

Stephen Hayes was amazed … and not in a good way:

The look on Steven Hayes face while Juan Williams tried to explain why Sebelius is not to blame was priceless #tcot

My Townhall colleague Dan Doherty scoffs:

The idea that Obama refused to enact a sweeping delay of his signature legislative achievement because of Republicans is an obvious red herring. The reason The One won’t delay Obamacare is quite simple: He feels he’s “won” this battle — in other words, he defeated Governor Mitt Romney in 2012 and the ACA was ruled constitutional by the High Court. Case closed. Therefore, any attempt by Republicans to amend or delay or defund his Big Government achievement is a non-starter. He’s made that quite clear.

By the way, the Obama administration knew full well that the website did not and would not work. They tested it and (surprise!) there were all sorts of problems with it.

And actually, the issue came up even earlier than that, as Jeff Dunetz reminds us today. In early August, the Inspector General warned that the system testing had been insufficient, and that the “margin for error” had disappeared:

The federal government is months behind in testing data security for the main pillar of Obamacare: allowing Americans to buy health insurance on state exchanges due to open by October 1

The missed deadlines have pushed the government’s decision on whether information technology security is up to snuff to exactly one day before that crucial date, the Department of Health and Human Services’ inspector general said in a report.

As a result, experts say, the exchanges might open with security flaws or, possibly but less likely, be delayed.

“They’ve removed their margin for error,” said Deven McGraw, director of the health privacy project at the non-profit Center for Democracy & Technology. “There is huge pressure to get (the exchanges) up and running on time, but if there is a security incident they are done. It would be a complete disaster from a PR viewpoint.”

We’re still not sure whether those bugs still exist. The performance of the website hasn’t provided any basis for confidence in the competence in any other area.

Comical. The left is becoming a parody of itself over this debacle.

Juan, do you realize how ridiculous you sound?

The left may be a parody, but they don’t see it as such.

Unfortunately, too many low information types won’t see it either. And these people vote.

The left IS a parody, but the voters are so misinformed, they Democrats get away with it. Until we figure out how to get information through to voters, our country is in a downward spiral.

It is a pity Fox rescued this affirmative action bleater when even NPR had become disgusted with him. His only redeeming value is being black, and even that isn’t even worth deigning to listen to any more. Sorry Juan, but Fox would do better with a Messican to replace you. Sorry POS.

Leftist sheeperals have two primary motivators - to feel righteous, and to feel “SMRT”.

This is why they’ll eat up all the excuses offered, because to deny those excuses would be to disavow their own righteousness and “smartness”.

Star Trek (TNG) inadvertantly showed these people in one episode where the aliens kept declaring how smart they were...

Juan at one point was almost reasonable, but as of late he has come unhinged. I REALLY believe he is getting his marching orders straight from the Spite House. He is being literally mocked on the panel of Special Report by Kraut, Brier and others for his ridiculous takes in everything Obama. The guy may well being in the midst of mental breakdown.

We can all scoff at this as much as we want but John Sidney McCain will validate (if he has not already) this line of thinking in a heartbeat.

So, if I have this right, the Zer0 was going to delay implementation (sure he was, and by the way I have this bridge for sale in New York City), but he didn’t delay because the Republicans were already calling for delay, and he couldn’t be seen to agree with them?

It seems their jobs are based on how much disinformation they can spew.
They will sport five lies in ten seconds knowing there's only twenty
seconds left in the segment. And Fox calls this fair and balanced?

Fox news is turning into the turd channel that MSNBC has become.

You’ve never heard of FFTJW? I’m amazed. You may recognize it as a method that works with DirectTV where it is possible to record shows for later viewing or pause, rewind and fast forward a live show.

If you have such a system you simply Fast Forward Through Juan Williams and life will become good again.

Typical government process. Its not like a Iphone because we are mandated to participate even if it fails.

This is a ‘teachable moment’ as the libs used to say about Obama lecturing us endlessly.

Juan Williams is FOX’s token “Person of Color” but I’ve gotten to the point where that even knowing that, I can’t stomach this idiot. I already know what he’d going to say once Obongo is rightfully and accurately trounced for anything on Bret’s panel: “It’s the GOP’s fault”! It could be that Fox just wants to demonstrate how stupid “One of their Best spoken democRATS” can be to millions. If so, a tip of the hat to Fox and thanks for the entertainment value of Juan Williams because he certainly is a dunce amongst dunces in his party!

The Left actually erected this monolith called Obamacare in honor of Ted Kenedy. Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.) said:

“In his honor and as a tribute to his commitment to his ideals, let us stop the shouting and name calling and have a civilized debate on health care reform which I hope, when legislation has been signed into law, will bear his name for his commitment to insuring the health of every American.”

From the beginning the media wanted to give a rosy picture and they resorted to their routine of lies through omission. The State Owned Media wanted to name their universal health care dream Obamacare in honor of Obama; not Kennedy who had a long history of character issues starting with Chappaquiddick. They spun their narrative around Obama, building a web of propaganda to push their universal health care agenda. Obama was the show boat, the One, God’s representative on Earth from which they could sell the agenda. The media gave America the Anointed One with marble pillars from which the masses would be given their government crumb of cake.

So much capitol was expended spinning their yarn of fantasy for their pied piper, Obama. When reality begins settling in that their monolith was made up of drunken dreams and myth, it is now damage control. The State Owned Media will do what liars always do, use more lies to support their lies upon lies upon lies.

Senator Ted Cruz delivered the fatal crack to the monolith by telling the truth. And, we the people will deliver the rest until it lies in a pile of rubble.

This is exactly what I said last Friday.

That's practically saying that Republicans forced Democrats to become intractable, for fear that they would open themselves up to criticism or appear weak to their own base if they gave in on a point or two in the name of "compromise."

In other words, just the existence of Republicans forces Democrats to do the things they do, which is why it's always the Republicans' fault.
