The ‘No Excuse’ Administration Has a Whopper of an Excuse for Obamacare
National Review ^ | October 23, 2013 | by John Fund

President Obama told the nation there is “no excuse” for the disastrous rollout of the health-care exchanges that are central to Obamacare.

But that didn’t stop Kathleen Sebelius, his secretary of Health and Human Services in overall charge of the project, from making excuses in a CNN interview with Dr. Sanjay Gupta yesterday. She claimed to Gupta that President Obama hadn’t been told of any potential problems prior to the launch of the exchanges on October 1 — a dereliction of duty anyway one defines it.

But there was also this startling explanation of what went wrong at HHS:

“We talked about having testing going forward, and if we had an ideal situation and could have built a product and, you know, a five-year period of time, we probably would have taken five years but we didn’t have five years. And certainly, Americans who rely on health coverage didn’t have five years for us to wait. We wanted to make sure we made good on this final implementation of the law.”

If my employee didn’t tell me about a looming disaster as big as this, and it blew up in my face, I’d fire them. Immediately.

Agreed. I have held "Executive" management positions (economy has me off my careers high water mark by a couple spots now). As a LEADER, I always stressed two important basic points, as ALL decent leaders do.

1) When you are highly confident that you have 90% of information pertinent to make a decision, do so. Otherwise, consult me.

2) Solving problems and fixing mistakes is a significant part of what we do and I expect decision makers to make them on occasion. There is no penalty for making decisions as long as they are informed, confident and timely decisions. But don't hide problems, YOUR CAREER DEPENDS ON IT!

If ever there was a larger instance of total incompetence and obvious fraud on display, I have never heard of it.

I am officially copyrighting the phrase: Communist Affordable Care Act © (aka CACA because that is what it is CACA)

CommieCare while accurate does not fully express the stench of this bill and everyone of the turds who created CACA.

Caliming ignorance and making yourself look like a moron to the entire planet is an easy out for them. The media certainly won’y hold them accountable. This will all be blamed on Republicans in another day or so..

Has Sebelius been terminated? No.

Has Holder been terminated? No.

The more incompetent and corrupt you are, the more secure your job is in 0bama's politburo.

The president goes on TV to tout that there is "no excuse" for the failure of the ObamaCare website. What he does not say (and the MSM ask) is that there is NO CONSEQUENCE for that failure also!!!!

Heads need to roll publicly for this fiasco.

LOL! Bagdad, Jay Carney.

Obamacare is saving millions of Americans on their insurance premiums. 10s of millions of Americans are signed up with the health care exchanges that our leader set up for them. The system is working perfectly. We are now reducing the debt with all the savings from Obamacare. This is creating jobs. The American economy is now growing at a faster pace than anytime in history, thanks to Obamacare. This whole process is going smoother than we expected, no thanks to Republicans who are trying to sabotage everything.

It took JFK 8 years to put a man on the moon but Sebelius says Obama needs 5 years to build a website.

First the press deserted.

Now the actively involved are covering their asses

Next the blaming of named individuals will begin. The lame “not enough time” and the corollary “not enough money” excuses will be used to hang this woman as specific instances of purely political meddling are produced.

If he remains in office, Obama will find himself isolated.

A good old fashioned stroke or a rumor of one will save his burned bacon.

Obama wants plausible deniability. His whole administration is structured around keeping his fingerprints off of anything that might counteract
the Limbaugh Theroem.

Well, Walmart is a great example. The simple truth is that software exists in multiple venues to accomplish the task of building a platform to sign up people and maintain data. That is not what was needed. This presented an opportunity to gove hundreds of millions of dollars to cronies and fellow thugs. The product was not important, payoffs were. In truth the system could have gone online 2 years ago for a total cost of about $100 thousand. People go to jail for this level of malfeasance.

My boss would fire employees for saying, “I’m working on it.”

I was never that harsh. But I would follow up with, "how". If the answer was; "I e-mailed..., I left a message..., etc." we got to have a little closed door mentoring session in my office. As the guy responsible for other folks, my most important role was making sure my managers were successful on our behalf. I cannot help if I don't know. Blind sided surprises to executives are not good for the careers of those that report to them.

Pissing away $650 million dollars on a total failure over 3 years and not telling the boss is certainly grounds for a hostile dismissal, if not criminal charges of fraud.

Yeah, and if they had 5 years, they would be bitching that they didn’t have 10. Having been in the product development world for a while now, Kathleen, you are a HORRIBLE Project Manager!!!

No way a website needed even the 3 available years for completion. The harsh truth of this Administration is that NOTHING has been done on-time and/or within budget since DEAR LEADER stepped in to the White House, beginning with his Transition Team that was supposed to make this Administration the MOST effective eva since day one!

Great line. I’m going to use it (I’ll quote Spartan302, OK?)

Another subject kinda: Good Art of the Con movie is Mamet’s “House of Games” - seen it?

This is what I have been saying for years. Put a federally subsidized clinic in every Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and Rite Aide. You would then have 98% of people covered and no more waiting lines at the emergency room.

The Obamcare plan is just to paint all ambulances black and go directly to the cemetery to save on healthcare.
