Blaze Sources: Obama Purging Military Commanders

Nine senior commanding generals have been fired by the Obama administration this year, leading to speculation by active and retired members of the military that a purge of its commanders is underway.

Retired generals and current senior commanders that have spoken with TheBlaze say the administration is not only purging the military of commanders they don’t agree with, but is striking fear in the hearts of those still serving.

The timing comes as the five branches of the U.S. armed forces are reducing staff due to budget cuts, and as U.S. troops are expected to withdraw from Afghanistan next year.

“I think they’re using the opportunity of the shrinkage of the military to get rid of people that don’t agree with them or not tow the party line. Remember, as (former White House chief of staff) Rahm Emanuel said, never waste a crisis,” a senior retired general told TheBlaze on the condition of anonymity because he still provide services to the government and fears possible retribution.

“Even as a retired general, it’s still possible for the administration to make life miserable for us. If we’re working with the government or have contracts, they can just rip that out from under us,” he said.

vs M1s, Apaches, Bradleys, Drones, etc. Hey, I’m with you on this, but of the 300m+ guns you cite how many are individual gun owners? 35-40% of the country? that comes to around 105m. of these how many are libs? how many of these are ar/ak type platforms? pistols? collections? And a lot of that is probably concentrated in southern and midwestern states. i know there is an article on FR that asks what can a pistol do and i support that. i’m just saying the 300m+ figure you cite may not be all that intimidating if we break it down. btw...i hope we never have to find out.

As I mentioned yesterday the AF has removed one GO out of 300. Not sure the numbers for the other services. It may be that the bar is being raised higher because of intense visibility. In other words they’ve always been doing these things but before they got a pass...not any more.

A valid question. Let’s take the amount of hunting licences issued. US Gov figure for 2011 is 14.9 million. The floor for individual gun owners is somewhere north of that as not all gun owners are hunters.

Gets shadowy when you try to break the licence numbers down. How many hunters have multiples to take advantage of special seasons, I.e. Bow hunting, black powder, etc.

Now try factoring that with CCW numbers, total gun sales and so forth.

Total is still greater than all other military services on the planet. Aliens and NAZIs hiding in Antarctica and the secret Moon bases don’t count.
