Talked to a friend last night who retired very well off as a software guru. Said that his rule to his people was always: have you tested it. Yep. Have you tested it. yep.

Come to me when you're ready to launch.

Here it is, boss. "Have you tested it?" Yep.

Go test it one more time.

Remember the Government Spending rule of 10: Every project or program will cost 10 times as much as originally projected.

Obamacare was advertised to cost $1Trillion. $10Trillion seems much more likely

They don’t have a clue what ObamaCare will cost. What’s the cost of knocking millions out of their health coverage?

What’s the cost of taking the most excellent health care in human history and ruining it?

not to worry The Regime has hired the Best and the Brightest to FIx these scrambled eggs.

No One at the HOUSE HEARING on Obamascare...could of course tell us who the Best and the Brightest Might BE...but thats a small point I guess.

PRICELESS.

I doubt that anyone on earth could make such a calculation.

What that sort of money I’m surprised that any of these contractors are still around. I’d be enjoying life on a yacht somewhere in the Caribbean with no way to reach me.

Imagine a website that matches your needs and wants to a product - where companies compete for your business....

Something like priceline, travelocity, hotels.com and what-not.

Of course, they did nothing like that.

this was designed to be hideously disfunctional.....aka a train wreck.

as the No Reasonable Expectation to privacy stated in CODE...was exposed during the house hearings this morning...things are bound to get interesting if THAT is followed up on...

I can go on Travelocity or some other travel site, and I can find for any given date air, car rental, hotel, and even incidentals with a few short clicks and in about a minute. I’ll get all the airlines, all the flights, all the departures times from every connection, for every possible flight from where I’m at to where I want to go, and even doing legs of a journey to that destination.

I’m working on a real estate software system I wrote over the last 5 years. Very sophisticated. Well over 50,000 lines of code if you include everything. It’s 99% complete.

But damn, that last 1% verification is a bitch. Keeps me from selling the system.

Magnify my problems times 100 and you have Obamacare.

Good luck buckos fixing that spaghetti code!

Yep.

Someone at one of these companies should create a mock-up of what a real health insurance marketplace site would look like.

I’m betting Travelocity didn’t spend half a billion dollars on just its software.
