Fort Hood soldiers say Army warned them off tea party, Christian groups
The Washington Times ^ | 10/24/2012 | Cheryl K. Chumley

Don’t donate to the tea party or to evangelical Christian groups — that was the message soldiers at a pre-deployment briefing at Fort Hood said they received from a counter-intelligence agent who headed up the meeting.

If you do, you could face punishment — that was the other half of the message, as reported by Fox News.

The briefing was Oct. 17, and about a half-hour of it was devoted to discussion about how perceived radical groups — like tea party organizations and the Christian-based American Family Association — were "tearing the country apart," one unnamed soldier said, to Fox News.

Among the remarks the agent allegedly made: Military members who donate to these groups would be subject to discipline under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, the soldier reported.

Liberty Institute has stepped in to investigate. Michael Berry, one of the nonprofit's attorneys, said he has been advising the soldier about his options — but that in the meanwhile, he said the American public should be on guard.

"The American public should be outraged that the U.S. Army is teaching our troops that evangelical Christians and tea party members are enemies of America and that they can be punished for supporting or participating in those groups," Mr. Berry said, in Fox News. "These statements about evangelicals being domestic enemies are a serious charge."

” What the H__ is this? Indoctrinating our soldiers not to contribute to groups of their choice? The people in this Administration cannot be trusted.”

The irony is that AFA is listed as a charity that can be designated on Combined Federal Campaign donations (cfc code 12037)

Thanks Tammy, and that article proves my point.

The first sentence tells you all you need to know. It isn't the "Army", it isn't systematic. They are loners in the military going rogue.

I'm a military curriculum developer, and somewhat familiar with how training is done, and this didn't pass the smell test. That doesn't mean I wouldn't call your Congressman; I just would not get caught up in hyperbole like many do here.

"Well, I can remember the last time the Tea Party rioted on the Washington Mall. They caused tens of thousands of dollars worth of litter cleanup."

And who can forget those evil Christians that flew planes into the world trade center, drove around DC's beltway shooting innocent people filling up their cars with gas or (ironically) shooting up Fort Hood?

Apparrantly now the US has incorporated its version on Political Officers that were the backbone of the Soviet Union’s Military.

This is not America.

This regime’s progression of dehumanization being done against Christians and conservatives in the US today matches that of the Third Reich and how they dehumanized the “undesireables” to the point that “normal” people would participate in Krystalnacht and in the turning in and extermination of Jews. They systematically built on each step of legal degredation to change the thinking of the people, to the point that they considered Jews vermin who were dangerous to the nation just like plague-infested rats would be a danger. The logical response to thinking somebody is a dangerous rat... is to kill them.

That is the programming that this regime is doing. I have no doubts in my mind that Obama is pushing for sharia in America as well as in the rest of the world, just like he told the Egyptian ambassador in January of 2010 that he would do. The Holocaust of Christians all over the world has gotten WAY, WAY worse under Obama, and he is now laying the groundwork for the same thing to happen here.

I have a message for you, Valerie Jarrett. I will gladly die with Christ and live with Him forever while you get to be a play-toy for Satan forever. Whether you service Satan directly or act as one of 70 perpetual virgins for his agents on earth makes no difference to me. You’re making your bed and will lie in it forever. I will NEVER lie in that bed. Cut my head off if you like; it will only be a one-way ticket to joy you will never even be able to dream of.

This is ALL under Obama’s watch. This didn’t happen under the 43 guys that preceeded him. Hopefully, it won’t happen after he’s gone from the scene......whenever that will be. Can’t wait for the REAL, LEGAL holder of the office of POTUS. In my book, there will always be a huge asterick beside the 44th* number.

Culture is very slow to change. A two-term President can do a lot of damage, but his reign is finite. I do not foresee out troops turning guns on their friends and family. I have more faith in our military than that. Not to mention they have a President who underneathe it all, detests them. You really think they are going to arm themselves against fellow Americans for that man?

Free Speech is a casualty of Hope and Change. Could Bush or any Republican have gotten away with this?

If it happened and the military is automatically claiming that it didn’t instead of investigating it and charging the person who did it, then it by definition can’t be a lone wolf thing. And even if it was a lone wolf thing it is extremely problematic that any person would believe they could get away with this. As with the IRS thing, specific orders may never be given from the top, but the top creates an environment where everybody knows what will be rewarded and what will be punished. We just got done seeing an Obamacare call center worker get fired because she honestly answered the questions that were asked of her. Not long before that we saw a man who reported problems with the Benghazi investigation get demoted. We’ve seen the military purged of any top commanders who crossed Obama. We saw Michael Hastings die in a car explosion after he worked on an expose’ of John Brennan. We’ve seen the military court-martial (or threaten to; I can’t remember if they went through with it) a guy who posted anti-Obama comments on Facebook. Others on this thread have pointed out how the military has been caught before, warning against Catholics and evangelicals. We just saw a CAtholic priest being told he would be arrested if he voluntarily conducted services on a base where the soldiers have no way to get to services off-base. We saw 18 Navy Seals killed in what seems to be a coordinated attack after it was revealed that Team 6 had done the Bin Laden raid - and we saw an imam say over the dead bodies that they would rot in Hell...

I think there is practically a snowball’s chance that this was just a lone wolf thing, given all the other stuff we’ve been seeing. This regime has ALWAYS operated by threats against anybody who would try to stand againt them. It is their native language, just as lies are the native language of them and the dark lord they serve.

Yes, let’s get some names. But I’m sure you can see why these guys would hesitate to do that. They’ve seen the same things we’ve seen in full public view. I hope that they realize, though, that once their names become public as well as the name of the perpetrator, any retaliation against them will be discernible to the public. Not that the military will do anything about it; they will do to these whistleblowers exactly what they did to LTC Terry Lakin. And not that Congress will do anything about it; they will do the exact same thing they did to the people who demoted the Benghazi whistleblower. But the people will know. And that is the choice these guys face. What would you do?

we’re moving from the fighting with no bloodshed to the next phase.

if the military is being purged, and it sounds like it is, then that changes the equation considerably.

stay ready.

Well.... not exactly. The lists used are not approved in military lists because the military doesn’t have lists of terrorist-leaning organizations. Instead, they have an approved list of other people who list terrorist organizations, and one of the groups on that approved list is the Southern Poverty Law Center, which labels anybody who supports traditional marriage as terrorist-leaning.

So the military leaves it up to people to look at non-military lists like the SPLC list, and then when their people use that approved SPLC resource the military can always say the claims weren’t taken from military materials. The SPLC acts as a front company for the military so the military can say their hands are clean.

That is what this article said. The military folks responded to this issue because a bunch of Congressmen got wind of what was happening and made a stink. The military response was that it wasn’t their materials. And it never will be their materials; they will always just send people to the SPLC to get their lists, and the military will keep acting outraged and deny that their official approval of the SPLC as a source for terrorist labels has anything to do with what is happening in multiple places at multiple times.

They will hire people like you to write the “official” line, as a fig leaf, but will refer instructors to the SPLC and accomplish the same thing without getting their hands dirty. Plausible deniability.

The combination of the article for this post (where the military denied that the event happened) and the article somebody else just gave (where the military said those events are isolated instances) shows that the military is both claiming that the event happened and that it didn’t. How does that work, if the military is being truthful?

I live just south of Fort Hood, and have kin in the military. Most soldiers won’t fire at their parents, aunts and uncles, etc. Most soldiers aren’t as dumb as the welfare crowds. Some of the officers who aspire to get some kind of political appointments will suck up to the party currently in power, but that is not the case with with the big majority. Liberals do not like for their children to serve in the military, for the most part. That is the reason for Obama’s desire for a “civilian army”.
If the liberals really think they want a civil war, they are dumber than I have given them credit for, and they will lose, athough the price will be very high for everyone.

“Do people still believe that American Troops WON”T fire on American Citizens?”

That was my very first thought when reading this.

The purge is on, the only people who get promoted are those who earn their politically correct stripes; firing on Americans is no longer out of the question.
