WASHINGTON The governments troubled health insurance website will be running smoothly for the vast majority of users by the end of November, administration officials said Friday, for the first time setting a public deadline for fixing the problematic centerpiece of President Obamas healthcare law.
Healthcare.gov is fixable, Jeffrey Zients, an economic advisor brought in to manage the repair project, told reporters on Friday. It will take a lot of work, and there are a lot of problems that need to be addressed. But let me be clear. Healthcare.gov is fixable.
Zients announced that the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services had hired a general contractor to manage the troubleshooting. QSSI Inc., a unit of United HealthGroup and one of three major contractors on the project, will take over the job from CMS, which has been criticized as in over its head in trying to manage the complicated project.

This guy said “let me be clear”????? Obama himself says that a lot.
Front-end is likely fixable.
The Back-end has bigger problems ....but won't be as visible to the General Public.
If you eat enough ex-lax and give it enough time, the turds will be freely flowing too. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that your digestive system is working properly.
..when ever a lib say’s “let me be clear” it translates to wait till you hear this lie....
Are you talking about Michelle Obama?
Of what Year of what Decade?
"Don't worry folks - we'll be sailing again by the end of November ..."
I am not touching that statement.....
An economic adviser will fix a complex Internet site? Why not an architect?
"doctor, [I] will be able to keep [my] doctor. Period. If [I] like [my] health care plan, [I] will be able to keep [my] health care plan. Period. No one will take it away. No matter what."
what a joke
You will be in the holidays by then and December, this year, is only about two weeks of productivity, as Christmas and New Years each fall on a Wednesday.
How much work will be done by the week before Christmas? Not much.
How much time do you think people will actually spend on politics and checking into ObamaCare® ??? Uhm, almost no one will be paying attention to politics in the week before Christmas and virtually no one during the week of Christmas and New Years.
You might as well take a two week vacation.
Front-end is likely fixable.
The Back-end has bigger problems ....but won’t be as visible to the General Public.
The back-end is attempting to verify a boat load of “user-defined” data points with a host of Government agencies.
It is extremely likely that conflicts exist among these agencies in how they have “classified” people internally, as well, how that data is feed back to Healthcare.gov.
The conflicts won’t go away without either rebuilding the entire site, including other government data sets, or compromising the program to massive fraud.
Late November 2017?
...or a plumber?
Stitching the various and disparate databases together and having it managed in the background with the government mouse trap and gerbil wheel ain’t gonna happen.
Hmmmmm....I’ll bet the gubmint is using X.25 in a Frame Relay, MPLS and IP world....
Idiots are using a 1-bit brain with a parity error.
As we say in Texas, “They couldn’t pour piss out of a boot with instructions on the heel.”
Man, things must be really bad.
It’s going to take them 6 weeks to figure out who to blame and how to blame them
“Administration officials” translated: “so lets shut up about the website & start talking about immigration reform”.
“They can’t even direct and control their own pet project and they want to control everything and everyone.”
That’s a good point. They had no idea the centerpiece of their “signature program” was not ready yet they want to run my life? They can’t even run their own project I’ll be damned if they run my life.
This is beyond ridiculous. Even the completely addled brains in the Administration MUST know they missed their moment. People don’t trust this website now, why do they think people will trust a NEW! IMPROVED! version in a month? Of course, it’s not just the website. Americans have also got a look at how much their “free” health care is going to cost, and word is spreading rapidly about people who liked their health care plans being kicked off of them because they don’t meet “federal (liberal) guidelines.”
As Mr. Obama himself memorably said, you put lipstick on a pig, it’s still a pig.
It’d be shame if the pig got a virus. /s
Like the gov’t debt ceiling this date will continue to be elusive.
“Jeffrey Zients, an economic advisor”
They brought in an economic adviser to fix computer software? Heck. why not just draft Michelle’s private chef? This is begging for fail.
“or compromising the program to massive fraud.”
I can see Democrats gravitating towards the fraud option on impulse.
