ObamaCare intends to dismantle ALL health care and healthcare insurance. It is the what the communists do. It is all about control.

I don't see in my copy of the Constitution where authority was given to the federal government to regulate drugs.

I have taken Hydrocodone as prescribed and I don’t see where it does a helluva lot for pain.

The liberals won’t be happy until they micro-manage the smallest details of our daily existence.
Soon there will be a directive on how many times a day we can flush.

I'm confused here...a few years back Osama Obama announced that the cornerstone of Obamacare would, apart from forbidding doctors to amputate limbs for profit,be that “maybe you're better off not having the surgery but taking the pain killer”.

What’s their worry, there is so little actual hydrocodone in a vicodin that you would shortly end up killing yourself by the acetaminophen damaging your liver with the large doses you would need to get high. I know this from the thirty years experience I had taking vicodin for migraines, and funny I never got addicted.

This is dumb, you can buy this stuff over the counter in most countries.
This was the one pain killer my doctor didn’t require me to go to his office to prescribe, everything else requires me to take a 45 min ride to his office so he can hand me a physical prescription.
How can Obamacare trust these massive databases but these same guys want to require physical prescriptions?

Ridiculous. Eventually there will be NO pain killers left for people who really need it. Every doctor I know is scared to death to even write this script because of the Obama FDA Nazi Assault Squads that will breakdown their doors

I consider this like gun control. Do we have a prescription med problem? Yes, but overreaching controls restricting the proper use of pain meds is wrong.

Is this because the FDA just approved a pure-hydrocodone drug (not combined with another painkiller)?

Typical right wing overreaction - there is nothing in the Constitution. Well, there is nothing in the Holy Constitution about having to drive on the right side of the road either! Drugs are and have been controlled by the Feds, get used to it. You wanted someone to protect you, didn’t ya?
Here’s something from the WSJ article a couple of days ago:
“According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 16,500 people died after overdosing on opioid-based painkillers in 2010, the last year for which data are available.”

What BS! Now the doctor won't be able to phone it in, so you'll have to go pick up a piece of paper at his office. (Plus the doctor will get even more monthly rectal exams by the FDA about why he prescribed it.)
But forget about all the chronic pain it alleviates, this is about control!

Sure, just give me all the pot and other psycho-drugs I want but keep me far, far away from Sudafed (to keep my nose & ears open) and especially any Tylenol with Codine I take for chronic back, neck and thoracic pain and arthritis!

Then return to the practice of admitting people to a hospital for surgeries, compound fractures, and procedures which require pain management by a professional.
Now everything is outpatient based, slap a discharge on your forehead, a script for lortoabs, hydrocodone, vicodin, and a phone number to call if your limb falls off or your stitchches explode.

When I get pain, and granted it’s very seldom, Vicodin and it’s generic alternatives are the only things that works for me.
Aspirin, Tylenol, Tylenol #3, and Motrin are a waste of time.
I hardly every use it, but if I have a tooth flare up, it’s Vicodin or incredible pain.
