IMO-(& this is meant in the best possible light!), Cruz is the male equivalent to Dorothy.....He pulled aside the Senate and House curtains in DC to give us all a thorough 'look' at the Machiavellian players.

For that we owe him a debt of gratitude!

I was one of those Santorum fans, but he needs to either help Cruz, or get out of the way.

It works. Romney destroyed Gingrich in Iowa and Florida and it worked. Obama destroyed Romney in the general and it worked. Negative politics works. Cruz is being just as negative on the GOP establishment as others are being on him. I’m with Cruz and he’s my nominee. But the idea that opponents who see things very differently won’t or can’t criticize each other doesn’t make any sense. That’s not the real world. My only point with Santorum is that I’m not even sure he agrees with he’s saying, he’s just trying to draw a distinction with Cruz. If that’s obvious, so be it. I didn’t say I agreed with Santorum either.

It’s one reason I don’t approve of intra-Party debates...All it does is bring the entire party down, especially when you use liberal moderators.

Win on your own merits, without tearing down your opponents.

In the General, by all means go negative on the opponent.

Oh, it worked? Is that why we have President Romney? (oops) Oh, it worked? Is that why Newt was way ahead while he was following the advice of going after Obama and liberals? (oops) Oh, it worked? Is that why Newt tanked as soon as he joined it? (oops) Oh, it worked? Is that why it took a record amount of money to do it? (oops) You need to read this BADLY. I'll send you free copy if you promise to read it:

Sounds like the non-fiscal conservative wants to attack Senator Cruz but still praise the Senator. Senator Cruz has commanded the respect of Conservatives that Santorum never could.

And this is what the sweater vest crowd could never get their head around. Rick doesn't have it. He just doesn't. There's an "it" factor in this business and for some reason, people want to pretend it doesn't. It can be based on courage, vision, obvious talent - or something just mysterious... but there is "it" for sure. Rick ain't got it, never will have it.

He didn’t say Cruz was wrong. He gave his opinion that at this point, Cruz’s approach did more harm than it did good.

Like if you know your pipes are clogged, and you decide that the best way to fix them is to use some heavy-duty chemical, but the chemical damages the pipes so now you need an expensive plumbing repair.

You were not “wrong” that the pipes were clogged, or in your desire to fix it, you just chose the wrong solution. It doesn’t make you a bad person, it just means that it didn’t turn out well.

We’ve all done things where we were trying to make it better, but have ended up making things worse.

I think it remains to be seen whether the specific actions taken over the past month did “more harm than good” — the problem is you are comparing what actually happened to what could have alternatively happened. It is easy to argue that some OTHER approach would have achieved the same positive results, without incurring the negative results.

But some don’t want to actually discuss alternatives or political strategy, they just want to attack people they opposed before and pretend they are vindicated.
