I’m not sure about that. I think he’s the likely nominee—he will have the money and the machine and there will be multiple conservative challengers. Bush, Dole, Bush, McCain, Romney. The GOP-E machine is REALLY good at winning the R nomination for president. Not so good a winning the presidency.
That and the R’s assault on Palin and the two conservatives who actually got elected to the Senate is what probably breaks the republican party in two. Going after Lee is as stupid a thing as the GOP-E could do.
