The head of the agency responsible for overseeing the troubled HealthCare.gov repeatedly refused to disclose how many people have enrolled in ObamaCare -- during a hearing where she did not deny that officials have that information.
Marilyn Tavenner, head of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, testified Tuesday before the House Ways and Means Committee. At the top of the hearing, she apologized for the failures of the main ObamaCare website and vowed to fix them.
But, raising more questions about the administration's transparency on the project, she declined to cite enrollment numbers. She did not claim, as Health Secretary Kathleen Sebelius recently did, that officials simply do not have those numbers -- rather, she said a "decision" was made to release them in mid-November.
"We made the decision that we were not releasing the numbers until mid-November," she said.
Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Calif., asked again whether she had any idea what the numbers are.
Her answer was the same.
"I'll take that as you don't want to answer the question," Nunes said.

Actually, I honestly think they don’t know. The data coming out is so corrupt, I don’t think they can verify just WHAT they’ve got.
The first insurance bills go our in December for the January enrollment.
Which genius thought the start of HOLIDAY shopping would be the best time to send out sticker shock bills?
Christmas spending might be depressed by this.
This is got to be the 100th time the Regime has given them the finger in sworn testimony.
I'm guessing they passed 100 some time back.
This is nothing more than 3rd world theater. The GOPe is deliberately, repeat after me: deliberately, telling these criminals that they are free to do as they like. And telling us (the Great Unwashed) to shove it where the sun don't shine.
Dear GOPe, message received....loud & clear.
Don’t tell her until the “middle of November”. LOL!
Slap her with a subpoena tomorrow morning.
Hold her in contempt of congress.
My wife says republicans should suggest the witnesses ask the NSA. I’m sure the NSA knoww how many signed up.
The amount of taxes the government takes in every quarter through withholding is about to plummet.
“if they could stop paying health insurance premiums and just sign up for ObamaCare if they fall ill.”
Originally, the only time people could enroll was during a set time (Oct. 1, 2013 - March 31, 2014). That enrollment time is going to be even shorter in the following years.
But with the website problems, the enrollment time is being extended temporarily, I think, at least for this first phase. Then in following years it will drop to only a time from Oct. to Dec. will people be able to enroll to get coverage (which would get them coverage beginning the next month, January).
From what I’ve read, there will be some exceptions...like if someone loses a job and doesn’t have insurance, they will be allowed to enroll during any month of the year. Also, some other life “change” events will qualify.
But according to those articles, it doesn’t sound like people can wait until they are sick and then just suddenly enroll in a plan. I may be wrong, so I hope someone will correct me if so. I’ve done some reading on it but sure don’t know all the facts.
And if enough Americans really get upset, the whole Obamacare thing could get stopped in its tracks anyway.
“Bingo. If they were really rolling in new enrollees they would crowing infinitum, posting numbers, thumping their chests, etc.. They aint. And the reason why is real easy to figure out.”
When they do release figures, it will only include people added to Medicaid and those VERY heavily subsidized. Then they send the IRS after the hard-working taxpayers to get them to pitch in...
I see a SHARP DROP in the level of that river of cash.
everytime I go to healthcare.gov....MY browser chrashes
we could give her erroneous info....and see how THAT plays out?
