White House press secretary Jay Carney on Tuesday denied President Obama had misled the public when he said that consumers could keep their health insurance plans after the passage of the Affordable Care Act.
Carney said that consumers who "had a plan the day before the Affordable Care Act passed and signed into law" and who had not either dropped their coverage or "been thrown off the plan" by their insurance companies were "grandfathered in and can keep that plan."
"If you've kept it, you can keep it forever, as long as your insurer offers it," Carney said.

“If you’ve kept it, you can keep it forever, as long as your insurer offers it,” Carney said.
And no one - not one “reporter” - asked “what happens if the ACA makes my insurance company drop my plan?”
Whose fault is it that I lose the insurance plan I want to keep forever? The insurance company?
I think he should be given a nightly talk show on which he is only allowed to have Tea Party members as guests.
Each show will end with a three round boxing match between Carney and the guest.
More like Hair Gerbil
“If you’ve kept it, you can keep it forever, as long as your insurer offers it...”
Of course, any change, however slight, causes you to lose the grandfather status, so Insurance companies will drop all the plans as they come up for renewal.
It is getting harder to tell satire from real stories.
Why is there even a “press secretary”?
We all know that his/her job is to spin and lie and demagogue and deflect and protect the president, no matter who he is.
This daily ritual of asking questions of a “representative” of the president, is a complete farce, so, why continue with the stupidity?
I also in turn find it difficult to remain civil and polite in face of such dishonest and contemptuous punks.
Here’s an bit from what Ann Barnhardt posted yesterday:
“Okay. This all goes to my screaming rants that people are responsible for their government. Im getting really sick of people acting all indignant and acting like theyre being ambushed by this whole ObamaCare thing.
Er my gawsh, yall! My insurance bill just quadrupled. Im serious you guys!
Well, no kidding. What in the blue firey blazes did you expect? Lets see. Insurance is risk pooling. A bunch of people get together and pay a small amount of money into a pool, and then when one of the people has an adverse event happen to them, the frequency of which can be broadly statistically predicted, then the pool pays out to the unlucky person who had the adverse event happen to them.
Now lets see. From DAY FLIPPING ONE the Obama regime has been saying that mean old insurance companies will not be able to turn away customers with pre-existing conditions in other words, insurance companies will have to let people JOIN THE RISK POOL AFTER THE RISK EVENT HAS ALREADY HAPPENED.
Um, yeah. That is the total, complete destruction of the entire insurance paradigm. This isnt my opinion. This is a mathematical fact an extremely simple and elementary mathematical fact. If people who have already had the adverse risk event happen to them must be allowed into the risk pool, then it is no longer a risk pool. It is a wealth redistribution scam that victimizes the TOTAL, COMPLETE MORONS who enter and pay into the pool without already having had the risk event happen to them.
How can a nation of 330 million people, iniquitous gutter republic though it may be, not understand this? How can a nation of 330 million people have their tyrannical regime tell them in no uncertain terms that the entire insurance paradigm is going to be destroyed by said regime, and then when it happens everyone acts all shocked?
Oh, and then add onto that the fact that ObamaCare requires insurance to cover all kinds of bee-ess preventative and elective services. Well, if every single person in a risk pool is guaranteed to have a claim because the coverage is no longer for catastrophes, but also for purely non-emergent, elective pseudomedicine and outright quackery, then what do you expect? The pool has to collect more than it pays out. Period.”
I’ve always thought that this guy has the perfect last name to be Obama’s spokesperson. Just like the mythical carney out in front of the carnival selling lies to the public to get them into the tent. Next thing Carney will be telling us about will be the man eating chicken or the pickled punk. America are the rubes....
That’s like peeing on my leg and telling me that it’s raining.
The people weren’t misled. They were lied to.
Sure. But employers are dropping plans. Insurers are dropping plans. If the plan isn’t there, you can’t keep it.
This carney sideshow is nothing but a fun-house where every seat comes with smoke outlet to attempt to blow up you ass.
