“Consenting adults” was always a lie

Libertopians will be at the forefront of the pedophile-normalization movement too

I’m not unsympathetic to the parents in that they are probably desperate to control their child’s seizures. I’ve checked a few epilepsy sites, though, and the data on the effectiveness of marijuana in helping control seizures is sketchy at best. And what positive result do seem to be indicated come not from THC, but the non (or mostly non) psychoactive cannaboid compounds. The article even states that the desired strain isn’t available.

The point being, marijuana isn’t a magic panacea/cure-all. The compounds found in it do help a few specific conditions glaucoma, for example), and may help a few others. It’s useless in many other cases, and could be worse than useless when used in place of an actually effective medicine.

Of course, I do realize that the number of medical marijuana users that are actually wanting it for medicinal use is probably a relatively low percentage. I’m just saying that for the folks who DO want it for legitimate medical purposes, there’s an awful lot of Fool’s Gold at the end of that particular rainbow.

I take it you aren't familiar with the studies that show cannabis can settle down or eliminate epileptic seizures in children.

Do you prefer that these children continue to suffer debilitating seizures?

There’s a lot of magical thinking in the world. And lot more outright mendacity.

Ya know, there IS something good apparently here (though some discreet checking could verify it).

A parent that actually cares about his child.

If a tea of pot (as opposed to a pot of tea) does some good, then it ought to be used, properly of course.

Magical schmagical. This whole world is spiritual whether or not we acknowledge it. The leading of God, especially, does mean something. Luke of the 1st century might have done as much good with his herbal stuff as we sterile scientists do with our advanced pharmaceuticals. Because God was in it.

That's true, of course. It's also a true statement about essentially EVERY medical drug. Re-read what you wrote. It's true of every drug from aspirin to morphine, and certainly any psychotropics. No drug is a cure-all, they all have specific areas where they are effective and many more others where they are not.

Any idiot who actually thinks pot or any other drug is a "magic panacea" should be ignored. Raising that kind of argument against any one drug whether pot or aspirin is just foolishness.

Pot might be shown to be a useful medicine in some circumstances. Why is that so surprising?

Tincture of marijuana used to be part of the USP.

The drug abuse plague of modern years is a result, I firmly posit, of abandoning the love of God. Especially as it applies to the honoring of the body (the offering of the body to God). When the body was offered to God, pot was a medicine. Now pot’s a trip to a land of who knows what gods.

No worldly law can do SQUAT about that situation. It is a matter of EVANGELISM but IMHO it needs a new evangelism that emphasizes the power of heaven. Getting scared into heaven by hell is really a final resort in God’s plan, it does work, but it reflects a stunning lack of Christian insight.

God placed mankind in a garden (the Earth) filled with wonders, puzzles, medicines, dangers, you name it. Part of the journey of every person to know and love God is to find and make use of those parts of the garden that work best for them in the plan that God has for them.

For some, cannabis may be a medicine; for others a pleasant intoxicant; for still others a mortal danger.

God's wisdom exceeds our comprehension, and He does not ask anything of us that we are incapable of. Learning the proper place of pot in each of our personal journeys toward enlightenment is surely one of the smaller of the many tests and obstacles we'll encounter.

God put animals in the garden so obviously beastiality must be okay too, right?

trying to justify the potheads using God is ridiculous

I’d like to know if the parents tried all of the anti seizure drugs that are out there. I don’t have epilepsy, but extremely painful classic migraine. I must have tried 7 different anti seizure drugs to find the one that really helps me.

I have worked with a man that started smoking pot at the age of 8, by 23 was a full blown schizophrenic. I know this is anecdotal but I wonder what pot does to the developing brain. There are many drugs that children shouldn’t use.

Children using the drug for medicinal purposes are NOT smoking it. Smoking (heating) destroys the medicinal value found in Cannabis. As a last resort, I hope to soon be following the path of this child.

Look, toddlers with the munchies are gonna have to go, and probably without warning. Doritos could be especially problematic. :-]
