Ever since Texas State Senator Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth) engaged in an 18-hour filibuster to protest new abortion safety measures, the folks at MSNBC have taken it upon themselves to act as her unofficial campaign for governor. Apart from the numerous on-air segments pushing Ms. Davis candidacy, the new MSNBC.com website has followed suit in a new puff piece entitled How Wendy Davis can win.
Author Zachary Roth penned a 23-paragraph article which serves more as a memo for Democratic strategists than an actual informative piece of journalism. Peppered with quotes from Democratic strategists, the MSNBC national reporter argues that Davis has a chance to instead put together a cross-racial coalition that brings together minorities and liberal or moderate whitesespecially women.
Despite Roth admitting in the very first paragraph that anything Davis tries to do to win in 2014 will be too late to help Wendy Davis bud for governor next year that doesnt stop the MSNBCer from giving his liberal readers some wishful thinking about how a Wendy Davis victory would happen. After arguing that Ms. Davis must follow the steps of President Obamas 2008 campaign, Roth then turned to MSNBCs favorite subject, abortion, to discuss why he wants Wendy Davis to be governor.
Rothed quoted Jim Henson, director of the Texas Politics Project at the University of Texas, to push the idea that Its not about abortion. Its about men bullying them and closing clinics where they get healthcare. Roth then doubled down on his pro-Davis sentiments, quoting yet another liberal, this time Democratic strategist Matt Angle to comment that, Its not just a matter of Wendy Davis appealing to women voters, its Greg Abbott and other Republicans really alienating women voters. So in terms of getting an increased Anglo vote, you get a lot of otherwise independent women willing to vote for a mainstream Democrat.
A mainstream Democrat at MSNBC is someone that stands up for 18-hours arguing for the right to kill a baby late in pregnancy and to oppose sensible regulations on abortion clinics? No wonder Zachary Roth thinks Wendy Davis should be the next governor of Texas.
Did you expect them to want Sarah Palin in that spot?
The “Kill Your Unborn Baby” candidate!!
Texas State Senator Wendy Davis (D-Fort Worth)
You mean Abortion Barbie...
If the Texas GOP has any sense at all, they will bombard her with pictures and stories from the Gosnell trial and make her try to defend them.
If “Abortion Barbie” can actually win or even come close to winning in Texas then this country and the Republican party are truly finished....
Molly Ringwald thinks Windy ought to be Governor of Houston:
Support this woman. The next governor of Houston, Texas.
She’s a gift from heaven.
Abortion Barbie will suck up lots of national money in a guaranteed losing cause.
Yes that bitch
She’s still around? What do the guys from CHiPs think, or Tonya Harding? Anyone polled the Banana Splits?
Molly Ringwald is obviously a twit
The next governor of Houston, Texas.
The stupid is large in this one.
Ssssshhhh...Molly knows that you have to be a citizen of Houston to vote for Davis.
Is it still news that the media and the Democrat Party are joined at the hip?
Hope they don’t expect to do any ballot box stuffing. Voter ID laws are in place in Texas.
The Black Panthers can sit this one out because voter intimidation at the polls is NOT tolerated in Texas.
Filthy democrats are mostly in the large cities, but Texas is a large State, with lots of people living the “small town” life - it is the rural areas that rule this State.
Hey nothing says a good Governor than someone who loves murdering babies..Wendy Davis, the poster child for what is wrong with the left
Molly Ringwald is still alive? I thought she OD’d years ago.
Wow, they are very, very afraid of Ted.
They know he speaks the truth.
They cannot handle the truth.
I hope they send Special Ed to Texas to campaign for her. Texans would give him some “Love”.
So of the 150 people who watch PMSNBC, how many do you think live in Texas?
