Flight turns unforgettable when passengers learn of fallen soldier

Delta Flight 2255 from Atlanta to Los Angeles seemed to be an ordinary flight with the exception of Candy, who was the most loving flight attendant I’ve ever encountered. Besides using her Southern charm to quickly defuse every situation, she began her welcome announcement by thanking the handful of uniformed soldiers on-board for serving our country. Her poignant message was followed by applause, and it put into perspective that none of us would be able to do what we do without these brave men and women.

And a video of the water salute to the fallen.

Someone once said, “A nation that doesn’t honor it’s warriors will be defeated by one that does.”

He also warned us not to be alarmed if we see fire trucks since Los Angeles greets their fallen military with a water canon salute. See my video below.

Hmmmm....This must be a lie....According to many right here, LA/CA is just a rotten place, with nothing but leftist...

Dammit... I need to replace my monitor again. This blurriness crap has got stop.

We laid to rest an old Marine a few weekends ago. He was 82. He was a Korean War veteran and my grandfather’s best friend in life. I’m not a veteran, nor are most of the members of my family, but when that Marine Corps honor guard, made up of men easily into their 60s and older, marched into that funeral home to honor our fallen family member, I cried like I never have at a funeral.

There’s something incredibly moving about the pageantry and honor among the men and women of our military. To see how they treat their brothers and sisters and to behold the event of a funeral, no matter how morose it may seem, is something truly awe-inspiring and one of the cardinal reasons I am truly proud to call myself an American.

Absolutely wonderful article. Shows that there are still patriotic Americans out there who understand what our servicemen and women are doing and sacrificing their lives for.

Unlike those red bastards in the Red House.

“According to many right here, LA/CA is just a rotten place, with nothing but leftist...”

We lifed in LA/CA (Simi Valley) when Reagan died, and we almost believed there wasn’t a leftist within 500 miles. The funeral motorcade from Port Hueneme to the Reagan Library was so mobbed by mourners that the hearse, press, etc., arrived about an hour later than planned. All overpasses were packed. While he lay in state at the Library for viewing, the 118 was backed up for miles with standstill traffic for a couple of days. I guess it takes a tragedy for the patriots to come out to the forefront in that neck of the woods.

....never fails. I, at one time, had to limit my participation with the PGR.
I attendant a service in Pen Argyle PA for an 18 yr old whose family had already suffered near fatal auto accident for the young mans father and brother just a few weeks before he was returned. Both Dad and Brother arrived at the service in hospital beds in separate ambulances....the Dad requested that he be allowed to follow his son up the steps and through the front doors of the Church. The Riders made it happen...(sobbing all the way)...it never gets easier, nor any less emotional no matter how many missions you do.
