"Social Solutions International (SSI) of Silver Spring, MD developed the research design for the FCC to "identify and understand the critical information needs (CINs) of the American public (with special emphasis on vulnerable /disadvantaged populations)."
"will contact newspaper/broadcast/website owners, editors, and reporters in six selected markets for interviews. The contractors will work at making these contacts through both back-door connections and through official channels -- and, once contact is made, the contractors will be asking people at each level to report on their organization’s news judgment."
This FCC crap has been in the works for awhile..
in December 2007, the FCC proposed new “localism” measures to force broadcast stations to offer programming more “responsive to the needs and interests of the communities that they are licensed to serve.” These proposed measures, highlighted in a document entitled, “The Report on Broadcast Localism and Notice of Approved Rulemaking,” included a requirement that broadcasters, “provide 3 hours per week of locally-produced program,” and that licensees establish “permanent advisory boards (including representatives of underserved community segments).” The FCC noted that these measures would become part of the application renewal process to make sure broadcasters “meet their responsibilities.”
I lived through the decades of the "Fairness Doctrine", in the silenced generation, and I prefer civil war to being shoved, nudged, forced whatever back into that condition.
Radio used to be the only electronic medium; but by the early 1980s the courts were ruling that there were many electronic and other sources of information. A Fairness Doctrine was NOT needed.

Obama's FCC wants broadcasting "with special emphasis on vulnerable /disadvantaged populations" -- so what good does it do to focus on ILLEGAL "immigration" when Obama's FCC is about to call talk radio to task for being "unfair" to ILLEGAL "immigrants" and take the broadcasting licenses away?
The talk shows I listen to all day do talk about ILLEGAL "immigration" as well as Obamacare; they all had better start focusing on Obama's FCC.

I’ve heard him say that he’d stop criticizing the administration if it were outlawed, several times on the air. Specifically, he said he’ll keep up the criticism right up unto the point of outlawing same, and then stop, making it sound like he doesn’t want to be a martyr.
No Savage, you don’t have to send all the Illegals back, and you don’t have to do it in one day or week or year.....You send a couple of millon back every year. THEY DIDN’T GET HERE IN ONE YEAR AND IT WIL TAKE A BIT TO SEND ‘EM BACK.

I heard some of his nonsense the other nite when he was babbling about his "plan" about illegals. He was spewing nonsense about not sending them back and having them "sign a piece of paper" saying they won't take any social services for five years, won't bring in any family members, won't vote, etc etc etc. Savage has lost his damn mind, who does he think is going to monitor these people to make sure they don't take any social services, etc...the same ones who are monitoring them now? Illegals have more damn rights than I do and having them "sign a piece of paper" is irrational, illogical and just plain stupid. They have rallies etc where immigration could come in and truck them all out, instead they let them protest, at a memorial, where OUR American Vets were not allowed, and he thinks that having them "sign a piece of paper" is going to fix everything?
