Republicans see Cruz as party leader (Dems pick target)

PPP’s newest national survey finds that in the wake of the shutdown, Republican voters now view Ted Cruz as their party’s leader. 21% picked Cruz to 17% for Chris Christie, and 15% for John Boehner. Cruz finished well ahead of the other GOP Senators we tested- Rand Paul got 9%, John McCain 7%, and Mitch McConnell only 4%. Mitt Romney at 8% and Sarah Palin at 4% were the other people we tested.

Numbers PPP will release next week show Ted Cruz would be an exceedingly weak Presidential candidate in the general election. The good news for the GOP is that even if the party base sees Cruz as their leader, Democrats and independents actually see Chris Christie, who has far broader approval, as the leader of the Republican Party these days. …

It sounds like the commie libs down at PPP can't get their numbers the way they want them yet. I imagine it is tough to get anyone to say Senator Cruz would be a "weak candidate" after the way he kicked their "messiah's" @$$ during Barry's government shutdown.

The reason why they are obsessed with this theme is that they dread the 2014 elections when Dems get wiped like they did in 2010.

Today Sharpton played a tape of Romney in campaign making a joke about Christie trying to waddle down the airplane isle on a video clip on TV.

All most people have heard of Ted Cruz is the non-stop litany of libs getting on TV and smearing him as an extremist or whatnot. It’s the same as people who “hate” Limbaugh but will tell you they never listened to him. The difference with a presidential election, Cruz gets to present himself to the public directly and not through a filter. The convention speech and the debates are more important than anything that comes before. Cruz’ family story will be compelling, his speech will be powerful, and he will wipe the floor with his opponents in the debates. We can even look at the Dem side for how polls years in advance mean little...Hillary had very low poll numbers in years past, but became a popular figure as she started running for office. But not only are polls meaningless now, they’ll be meaningless up through at least Spring of 2016.

True. But Christie showed his cards and he’s not what people thought/think he was/is, IMHO.

Just another Northeastern, RINO like King. Good for some one liners here and there, but thinks he knows whats better for folks than they do.

They would throw everything they have at Cruz. It would make what they did to Palin seem like adulation.

However, the debates would be a pleasure to watch. I would love to see Cruz humiliate Hillary, Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Sebelius, or whoever they dredge up.

Remember though they tried to smear Romney as a “conservative extremist” too. So even if you believe the RINOs are more electable, it’s not worth nominating one, because the Dems will attack him just the same.

The Democraps were the only ones in the Congress to vote for the enabling legislation that CZAR B.O. signed into law. It should be called DEMOCRAP-CARE and hung squarely around the neck of every Democrap who voted for it!

CZAR B.O. is only the Goebbels of the Democrap Party who reads the lines that are written for him on a teleprompter and to be a fund raiser. Look at all the scandals that he knows nothing about, until he reads about them in MAD Comics.

They are saying the ACA was a conservative idea proposed by the Heritage Foundation and tried by Romney and that's why it doesn't work.

They say its proof we need single payer a real Dem idea.,

Actually, PPP is middle-of-the-pack in accuracy, and at least in the 2012 Presidential race (like most pollsters) had a slight Republican bias.

As for current polling, it seems reasonable to me; this is a party (and a country) split asunder.
