Did the NRSC's Josh Holmes Just Cost Mitch McConnell His Primary?
Breitbart.com ^ | November 3, 2013 | Dan Riehl

Posted on 11/03/2013 5:25:04 PM PST by Bratch

In 9-plus years of blogging, never have I seen a story this telling of a Republican Party that doesn't understand its base, or New Media.

Worse, it's indicative of a corrupt inside-the-Beltway party that has abandoned or decided to ignore nearly everything I believe in as an American and a conservative. This is a disaster for several reasons; I'll try to briefly and clearly explain my thinking below.

GLOVES OFF: GOP ESTABLISHMENT GOES AFTER TEA PARTY The National Republican Senate Committee, the GOP campaign arm responsible for Senate elections, has decided to use its political power to block consulting firm Jamestown Associates from receiving political work from GOP candidates or incumbents.

First and foremost, this has nothing to do with Jamestown Associates, or the Senate Conservative Fund. It's foolish for McConnell and company to pretend there aren't dozens of firms capable of pursuing any business one or another firm might forego.

I’d give a week’s pay to see the door hit McConnell in the ass on his way out. Almost wish I was a Rat so I could vote 4 times in the primary (for Bevin).

If Switch loses the primary, he’ll just run as a DemocRAT.

This narrative now reeks of the very type of corrupt, inside-the-Beltway, bubble-headed, corporatist, and, ultimately, internecine nonsense of an otherwise un-accomplished D.C. GOP that understands neither its base, nor New Media as a genuine player in politics today. Sadly, it's also an indicator that the GOP is moving in precisely the opposite direction from its base, all but forcing the conclusion that Mitch McConnell is no longer capable, or qualified to be considered as a leader within it, assuming it still wants to have a base in the years ahead.

From your lips to...

I would love to see the RINO's honestly show their true colors and get crushed!

They always have to run as conservatives (like McCain did) to get elected.

Had Mr. Riehl any familiarity with California Republican politics, he would have entertained no such illusions about Mr. McConnell.

Furthermore, since when did the GOP decide it was against the free market AND the First Amendment?

The truth is, most of the GOP, the people who do all the grunt work in the party, the ones who are the real heart of the party, are frequently marginalized by the elitists. While they dismiss the bulk of the party, they do so by ignoring what the party stands for. For the most part they are embarrassed by the pro-lifers, and yet the pro-lifers are the ones honoring the very first inalienable right described by our Founders.

In their desire to squash the pro-lifers, the country-clubbers also step on the other parts of our freedoms like our economic liberty.

Ronald Reagan had to fight them. And the party had its most tremendous success when he was voted into office in TWO landslides.

C’mon folks. The kentucky doughboy will be retiring in the spring. This is his long goodbye. He needs to raise a whole bunch of money for his PAC that he can use for, well, pretty much anything he wants.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s already had his K street office measured for drapes.

But what would his beltway wife do? Er nevermind she’s been on the teat making 1 Mil a year while “helping” the American people. Someday power couples that steal from the people will be extremely out of vogue.

Rand Paul’s immigration speech
03.19.13 | Hon Sen Rand Paul (KY)
Posted on 03/19/2013 7:04:07 AM PDT by Perdogg

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.

Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.

Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.

Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.

If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...

This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.

Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
[but he’s not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]

It might be an insightful piece but with all the inside baseball crap- the undefined and copious use of acronyms it is something for a small group of the writer’s friends. It should have been an email with limited distribution.

When does the Party come to recognize that if its face and voice are represented by McConnell and the other long-time Congressmen and Senators who have failed to halt the advance of the Progressive agenda which brought us Obamacare, then the citizenry is going to choose on its own to replace it--never mind what the NRSC says about it?

2014 is a good time to let these enablers of the so-called "progressive" regressives know that new generations of "We, the People" will use every opportunity to replace them with visionaries who are able to articulate and use America's founding principles to restore freedom and opportunity to this great nation!

The Republican Congressmen and Senators who have mouthed platitudes and given lip service to "conservatism," all the while failing to do the things necessary to protect the Constitution and its precious protections must now yield up their offices to a new generation who, like the founding generation, treasure the dedication of those who held that first Tea Party meeting in Boston, with all its historical significance to liberty.

Attacking the newly-minted devotees of the ideas of liberty who are part of an inspiring Taxed Enough Already movement is not the way to raise funds for 2014 or 2016.

I have received several mailings from both the NRSC and the NRCC in the past couple of months. The go right straight into the trash without being opened.
