Obama Accused of Military 'Purge'

The United States military is being "purged" of officers suspected of disloyalty to or disagreement with the Obama administration, several sources charge.

"We recognize President Obama is the commander-in-chief and that throughout history presidents from Lincoln to Truman have seen fit to remove military commanders they view as inadequate or insubordinate," Investor's Business Daily (IBD) observed.

"Yet what has happened to our officer corps since President Obama took office is viewed in many quarters as unprecedented, baffling, and even harmful to our national security posture."

Retired U.S. Army Maj. Gen. Paul Vallely believes Obama is "intentionally weakening and gutting our military and reducing us as a superpower, and anyone in the ranks who disagrees or speaks out is being purged."

According to Breitbart.com, at least 197 officers, mostly at the rank of colonel or above, have been relieved of duty for a variety of reasons, or for no stated reason at all.

Nine senior commanding generals have been fired by the administration this year, "leading to speculation by active and retired members of the military that a purge of its commanders is underway," IBD reported.

Among those officers:

Just as Erdogan did in Turkey, to prevent a coup, Obama is making sure that he is safe from that here, as well. It would be an unprecedented move here, but not in the ME. However, Obama is making sure that it cannot happen. He has found that people are afraid of Chicago-style threats so he can pretty much do as he pleases. IE. John Roberts, etc. who have been publicly warned not to come against Obama’s will. But, you realize that the democratic party does not see their leader as anything but a very successful man, as they have no problem with his methods. As someone spoke on Sirius radio today, a leftist that is, called in to say that he was pleased to always be in the winning party, drinking the champagne of success. He ridiculed the republicans for the tea party, saying that they’d never see success as long as the tea party had any influence. Democrats see winning as the only thing and the methods do not matter. Killing? Whatever it takes. Bribing? Whatever it takes. Of course, if it was a republican doing such, then it is wrong...but not a democrat. We are living in deadly times. Soon they will come for all of us for one reason or another. There will be no neighbor who will speak out for us b/c of fear that they would be next, or that they see nothing wrong...if we’re being tortured/imprisoned, we must deserve this. This is what it is coming to, I’m afraid.

Among those officers: Gen. Carter Ham was relieved as head of U.S. Africa Command because he disagreed with orders not to mount a rescue effort in response to the Sept. 11, 2012, attack on U.S. diplomatic personnel in Benghazi, Libya.

This is garbage. Gen. Ham retired on 5 April 2013, as planned previous to Benghazi.

As will I. Barry does not quite know what he is up against. This is not a starving population that will follow his dumbness to ruin, like Hitler led. There are millions of gun owners in this country. Sure, there are the dumb wittle kiddies over at DU and the Huffington Post that would follow him anywhere. But they will run at the first bang.

I love being told by Der Leader that I should not be allowed to own a gun. Not only is it “the law of the land” (like Obamacare) it federally protected by the second amendment. So a guy that has most likely never held a gun in his hand in his life, can tell me I am not qualified to own one? (Or many.)

I am a chain smoking, target shooter who shoots upwards of 5,000 rounds of ammo a year. I am Barry’s worst nightmere.

I’m sorry but I can’t believe that out of at least 197 officers not one of them has step forward to blast the Obummer administration.

You can say they are afraid of losing their retirement benefits or their life, but at least one would have the balls to come forward.

What I really think is happening it the continuation of Roberts Gates’ idea of thinning out the Officer Corps to save money. Infractions that were overlooked in the past are being enforced now to find reasons to create a leaner Officer Corps.

Same thing is happening in the Enlisted Corps but it doesn’t make headlines. Heck, they are even tightening the tattoo policy. At the height of the Iraq war they loosened the policy to get warm bodies, now they are looking for reasons to get rid of people.

Well said. As for the ‘weakening’ part, a quality officer can triple the value of his forces and in rare instances make his forces even more effective than that. This is an outrage.

We will need not only a patriotic commander in chief, but also one willing to counter-purge the military. This would scare the left beyond belief because such a president would be popular with the troops. It would also concern me. Such a president would have tremendous defacto power. Only the future president’s integrity would stand in the way of weilding it. But Obama is making it necessary.

Thermal vision and satellite surveilance will not be easily overcome. The US military, if completely corrupted, would be capable of a single day coup. ALL of our communications could be jammed. Our governors could be held at gun point. And guess what the most powerful weapon there is?

Slander. Divide public opinion, splinter off the most resistant, and have a Waco every day while controlling what little media remains.

Good news? Our military is too patriotic to go along with such a scheme. Even this purging is too slow to meet Obama’s term deadline. He was scared to do it sooner. Now it’s too late. The best he can hope for is to keep the military from turning on him.

I need some help with your list. Are you saying that all of those Naval Officers in 2012 were relieved for cause? Regarding those in 2013, I have seen not one word of rebuttal from them saying they did not do what was charged. Either the Flag Officer had counterfeit chips on him or he didn’t. Each of the charges seem to stand on their own merit with no rebuttal from the accused.

We have to elect state governments that can survive the economic tactics of the federal government while making it clear they will have to use force to impose their tyranny on the state\s. I think people need to start accepting we aren’t going to save the entire union, and start salvaging what we can. The federal government can’t be fixed so what’s the point of holding onto a tyrannical government?

If you are right, then it will be by blood. I do not think people are willing, or conscience of that.

Although we slide peacefully into the mire. If human nature (history) are any indication, then the other side will not go without a fight. and it looks like they are preparing for one. I doubt we (the people) will give them one.

My opinion, I hope I am wrong.
