The autopsy of an unarmed man killed by a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer in September shows he had 10 bullet wounds, including five that were fatal.
The report released Friday also revealed no illegal drugs in Jonathon Ferrells system. The 24-year-old had a blood-alcohol content of 0.06, which is within the legal limit of 0.08 for driving, the autopsy results also show. He also had traces of nicotine and caffeine.
On the night of Sept. 14, Ferrell wrecked his car on Reedy Creek Road in northeast Charlotte and then banged on the door of a nearby house. The woman inside the home thought someone was trying to break in and called 911.
Ferrell was shot as he approached three officers who responded to the call.

The important thing here is that the cops got to go home to their families.
I think this particular cop will be getting an entirely new “family”.
What are cops to do when they are approached by a civilian? It was a clear case of having to kill him, because he might have been dangerous. Besides, it was just good target practice, more realistic of a life and death situation than shooting dogs in people’s yards.
These cops are no better than thugs who kill people for the fun of it. They need to be euthanized at the local pound.
I think only one officer fired all the shots.
It appears that the only people who are safe these days are those who run away from the police.
Apparently the woman didn’t have a dig or baby deer.
You didn't get the memo that cops were allowed to kill anyone they want any time they want and simply state the magic words "He made a threatening gesture" et voila it automatically becomes a "good shoot." After all dead men tell no contradictory tales.
Well, he now has a fatal lead level.
How can you have more than one fatal wound?
Why? 10 shots, 10 hits, five fatal.
More apt to get a medal, doncha think?
It is an alternative universe for out of state visitors in Charlotte-Mecklenburg. If an out of state driver is rear-ended by a local, you can be sure that the out of state driver was navigating the roadway at high speed while in reverse.
NC is one of five states that operate under Contributory Negligence http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contributory_negligence. If you are a visitor to NC and get into an auto accident, you might as well add “Dueling Banjos” from Deliverance to MP3 player. You are about to get a taste of Mecklenburg-style justice.
It is not a racial thing - it is a local thing.
Then fire the other ones for neglecting to pull out their guns and kill the idiot who was doing all the shooting.
Each of those five would have been fatal by itself.
Then they shoot you in the back. Happened to the son of one of the scool janitors where my kid went to school (many many years ago) Ran from cops and was shot in the back and killed Running away is apparently a "threatening gesture"
Exactly. So why didn’t this professional journalist say that?
That will not happen.
The cop who killed him was charged almost immediately.
Not paid by the word?
Quoted the autopsy report?
And he was black.
> And he was black.
Who was black, the cop or his victim?
And which case are we talking about here? The one in the title, or the janitor’s son?
Anyway, the proceeding table shows the rates of cop killing for non-whites relative to the white rate. In other words, a rate of 100% indicates cop killing that is exactly equal to the white rate; anything less than 100% indicates a lower rate of cop killing relative to whites and anything above it indicates a higher rate:
American Indian 173%
This guy didn’t deserve to be murdered.
The victim who was killed by the cop.
> The victim who was killed by the cop.
So, is the Dear Leader 0dunga going to say that the cops acted stupidly?
In this case, I’d agree with him.
Or are newspaper delivery ladies that have a small truck.
I am surprised Obama hasn’t jumped into this case.
This is horribly sad and tragic.
Or a donut.
The moral of this story....
Avoid any contact with LEO’s if at all possible. The odds are that ANY contact with a LEO may cost you your life, all because a LEO may have “felt threatened”.
This reeks of a soviet style police state, which ends up with the people having nothing but fear and contempt for anyone in law enforcement. Protect and serve becomes arrest and punish. I personally think that a lot of LEO types were deliberately psych profiled and hired solely for their sociopathic tendencies, to serve a single purpose.
LEO’s are NOT your friends. They’re allowed to lie to your face for the purposes of “investigation.” Avoid any consensual encounter with LEO’s.
Normally, yes, but remember, I said "this particular cop".
His status is this: charged with voluntary manslaughter
And this autopsy result won't help him a bit.
To be sure of hitting the target, shoot first and call whatever you hit the target.
This cop was a relative rookie who had just moved up from animal control. Before this he just shot the families dogs.
Memo to self, always travel with a dog...
