The statement by Emanuel is false. In a letter sent to my Congressman prior to the passage of the Act and therefore prior to the HHS regulations which define “change” for purposes of the grandfather clause, I predicted that the Act would lead to the extinction of non-conforming plans. Any thinking person who took the time to read the Act would have come to a similar conclusion.

Just wait until Employer provided Group Insurance will have to embrace the new Government imposed mandates regarding coverage. The same thing will happen, Policies will get cancelled and the employer provided coverage will be terminated. Prior to Obama care, most people were very happy with their coverage and never had these high deductibles and co-pays. They (Government) really threw out the baby with the bath water.
Instead of providing quality healthcare, at least everyone can now enjoy free birth control and abortion services?

The insurance companies who were stupid enough to support Barry on this had better watch out and start hiring lawyers. Next thing you know Holder will start an “investigation” and discover this was all their fault. Lawsuits to extort confessions and fines to follow.

Towards the end of his segment with Wallace, Zeke said the individual mandate deadline should not be extended since even after the website is fixed by the end of November (wishful thinking, btw), that still gives people 4 months to sign up, which is plenty of time.

I know it would've been changing the subject, but I wish Wallace would've then asked ol' Zeke, if 4 months is more than enough time to sign up for Obamacare, why isn't 12 months enough time to expect people to secure some form of voter id in time for next year's mid-terms? Or better yet, 36 months in time for the next Presidential election?!

Yep....there’s more coming and the demorats and media will push that it’s the Insurance Companies. Unfortunately Obama supporters believe all they’re told....they have not been hurt enough to change yet.

Lowering food stamp distribution is not enough to turn them...nor is Obamacare.....until they have barely “survival” funds only they will not change. Even then they will revolt rather than go to work. In their minds the gov. owes them one way or another.

Those not on the rolls are fully indoctrinated to the progressive mindset....they too haven’t “hurt” enough. Only when there is severe hardship will their mindset be broken.

It is Obama's aim to erase health insurance leaving the field open to Socialized Medicine...run by the government...waste and fraud will reign. Put your Congressmen on notice...defund or look for new work...and mean it!

Elect Terry M., Bagman for the Clintons Virginians, and look for more corruption. Elect Cuccinelli, and look for a healthy State....don't let your state be bought by the Obama and Clinton political machines...they don't give a hoot in 'ell about you or Virginia...Make your vote for Governor for America...not a vote for Socialism.

The Big Insurance companies opted out of the exchanges....they’ll watch the little guys fall under obamacare and be there to pick up those who can afford private polices...the little companies believed this was a win for them....they will discover otherwise down the road.

Carriers are already sending out notices of cancellation on employer provided insurance. My small firm has received one, and a couple of my larger clients have as well.

Yeah, Zeke knows that the world will be a paradise as soon as we get rid of all vestiges of capitalism. Certain difficult obstructionists will have to be dealt with first.

The insurance companies did not realize that the endgame was their own demise. GREED clouded their judgment.

Frankly about the only thing that will happen with Obamacare is they will tweak it here and there.....I do not have any reason to believe Congress will do any more than that. They certainly don’t give any indication now they intend to stop it...just slow it down or change certain aspects of it. Either or we will never have our Insurance choices as once were.

"He isn’t responsible for that"

Words inscribed on the pediment of the Obama Memorial located in the Chicago stockyard's excrement collection facility.

“When the private companies decide to drop an individual, you blame Obama. He isn’t responsible for that,” said Emanuel, brother to former White House Chief of Staff turned Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.”

Giant HALF TRUTHS are great at telling giant lies, and that’s what Emmanuel does.

This issue of the day is not insurance companies that “drop an individual” because of Obamacare. It is insurance companies dropping a plan as it was previously offered, and either offering to keep that plan but UNDER OBAMACARE it will cost more DUE TO OBAMACARE, or in some markets, no longer offering that plan DUE TO THE ADDED COSTS REQUIRED FOR THAT PLAN, UNDER OBAMACARE.

Emmanuel went on to try to say insurers did not want to be in the health insurance market for individuals “as it’s constructed” (before or since Obamacare).

That is another GIANT half truth because the market for health insurance for individuals IS an artifact of government intervention, government regulation and government tax policy. The individual market is in net a CREATION of everything the government has done to favor the big government, big employer, big union CAPTURED EMPLOYEE health insurance market and disfavor the individual market.

“Dumb insurance companies. They thought they were getting special perks from Bambi in exchange for giving up their business and getting guaranteed government business.”

They are not so much dump as they are traitorous, selling EVERYONE’s Liberty for a few promised pieces of silver, in a program that by it’s mandates makes the cost of inusrance higher - no fault of theirs - but, via the enslaved media, it is SUPPOSED to put the public blame for it on them.

Yet, what they got from Obama will keep them slap happy for a long time, before the ongoing, year after year sticker shock and rising taxes comes back and bites them for their bargain with the devil.

That will take some time because if a plan is too “expensive” it can be subsidized if it is more than 9.5% of someone’s annual income, up to an income of $9X,0000/fam of 4 (400% of “poverty level”). The subsidy takes the individual’s cost down to no more than 9.5% of their annual income. In time, as sticker shock goes up every year, and more and more go looking for the subsidy, the taxes to make it all possible are going to go up as well. As long as the subsidy keeps up, what “sticker shock” will the insurance companies see in their income? Very little. The mandated coverages and the income levels for the subsidy and the level of the subsidy will keep their revenues largely unscathed. BUT, at some point, the federal fiscal situation will force stiffer price controls on policy premiums, just as price controls entered the Medicare scene as a way to try to cut it’s cost. Price controls result in fewer participants in a market; a situation that usually leaves only the biggest ones surviving. Who will that be? The ones that made the deals with Obama; and although it was never their plan to help destroy the private insurance marketplace, that’s exactly what their grand bargain will help do, in time.
