The Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which will come up for a cloture vote in the Senate today, mandates that employers in the United States permit men to dress as women at work and women to dress as men as long as they otherwise adhere to “reasonable dress or grooming standards.”

Democratic Sen. Jeff Merkley of Oregon, the bill’s primary sponsor, has been joined by 55 co-sponsors. So the bill already has the backing of a 56-vote majority in the 100-member Senate. …

If that idiotic garbage is the most important thing on their agenda right now then they need to close this session of congress and go home.

Yes, but do they have open sanctioned access to the men's bathroom (and vice-versa)?

Uh, how could they “be born that way”. We are all born naked. Male/female dress codes are completely constructs of civilization so someone has to choose that lifestyle.

It is ridiculous that people think it’s OK for the gov’t to have any employer mandates. Employer/employee is supposed
to be a private mutually benefitting agreement.

That’s next. It’s complete bunk. Unlike skin color, which is no reason to judge a person, cross-dressing is behavior. Not all behavior is tolerable. What you do on your time is your business. When you’re on my time you don’t disrupt my business.

NO ONE is born a “cross-dresser”. We are born naked.

The nature of clothing is determined by social custom and fashion.

If an employer can’t keep a man from wearing a dress, then the employer is likewise unable to prevent arbitrary selection of things like a dog or chicken costume or heavy metal attire. It becomes “arbitrary”.

The Employment Non-Discrimination Act, which will come up for a cloture vote in the Senate today ...

The Senate? The United States Senate?! With all of the problems facing this nation, Dingy Harry Reid is singularly focused on this piece of ... legislation?!!! The bill ....

... mandates that employers in the United States permit men to dress as women at work and women to dress as men as long as they otherwise adhere to “reasonable dress or grooming standards.”

Of course, he would pick Waxman to help him model "reasonable dress" ...

If I’m sexually oriented to dress as the opposite sex, why should they discriminate against someone who’s sexually oriented to be into leather and bondage or who’s turned on by being an exhibitionist and wants to go nude at work? If a cross-dresser can get their rocks off at work it’s discriminatory to say people of other alternative orientations can’t.

Someone should go to a Dem’s office or call them asking for bondage and nudist rights. They’ll probably be told, we’ll get to that eventually once it’s viable to do so and still be reelected.

They’re just trying to generate an issue.

And the fact that this issue wouldn't get them thrown out of office is the problem. The lack of common sense with the public and the easy way they're manipulated into doing anything once someone cries "discrimination" is the problem.
