If thou art privy to thy country's fate,
Which, happily, foreknowing may avoid, O, speak! ---Hamlet.
Quick! Someone get in touch with the editor of Guns & Ammo magazine, Dick Metcalf, and let him know that "happily" as used in the early 17 century by William Shakespeare does not mean "happy" but "perhaps." And perhaps (happily) Mr. Metcalf won't make the same ridiculous error again when he completely misinterpreted the 18th century meaning of "Well regulated militia" in the Second Amendment of the U.S. Constitution to mean government regulations as a justification to call for gun control.
Bryan Preston of the PJ Tatler points out the blatantly obvious which went completely over Metcalf's head when he wrote a gun control column:

One part of his writing talks about “political and civil rights” being regulated. I don’t think hie understands the meaning of the word “right.”
The guy may be an uber-liberal mole or plant, sent solely to reek havoc and smear an otherwise good publication. Like that hasn’t happened before? Divide and conquer is a well known tactic of leftists, one which people fall for every time, because leftists are masters at manipulating emotions for their own ends.
I canceled my G&A subscription yesterday and encourage others to do the same.
This is not just one person.....several people read and approved this anti-2A piece of garbage.
guns and ammo are soros owned and controlled through front companies like Greenway Acquisitions etc.
TIME TO DEEP SIX THIS PUBLICATION.
Maybe this is the point - to kill the publication!! ??
Misinterpret = mass cancellations!!!
No more purchase of Guns ‘n’ Ammo here.
Never again.
There are plenty of other publications with real Americans running them—and new ones can be born.
Do not forget "brown" rifle advocates are not the same breed as "black" rifle advocates.
In my experience, the brown rifle types tend to be even more delusional than outright gun grabbers.
The grabbers know they're lying about their goals and motivations, but brown rifle types seem to actually believe them.
