Virginia governor's race too close to call
Fox News ^ | November 5, 2013

The polls are now closed in Virginia, and Fox News can report that Democrat Terry McAulliffe has a slight lead over Republican Ken Cuccinelli, although it is too early to call the race.

According to the latest wave of Fox News exit polls, the surprising closeness of the race can be attributed - in part - to the disastrous rollout of ObamaCare.

Virginia voters in general oppose ObamaCare by a margin of 53 to 45 percent, according to exit polls. Of those who oppose the law, 80 percent voted for Cuccinelli and 11 percent voted for McAuliffe.

The one nice thing about this election is that in the weeks leading up to it, we in Pennsylvania vot(my home state) were not drenched in the sewage of negative campaign commercials. We won’t be so lucky next year. I feel sorry for our friends in VA who must have been absolutely clobbered by this garbage. If only there was a way to convince local TV and radio not to run this malignant drivel. One more way we in the USA are the laughingstock of the developed world. Rant over.

Looks like maybe that Tea Party is not as dead as the Hard Liquor party hoped.

11% ride the shortbus.

This is why they need blind instantaneous reporting of results from the precincts. No one can manufacture just enough votes to win in a close race if they don’t know what the other precincts are reporting.

You are talking about significant earnings for the TV and Radio stations. They probably would like year round campaigns.

Dems will hold back the votes from the DC burbs and Richmond until they know how many they need, then they’ll tally the dead votes. Mcauliffe is in the lead by 11pm. It gets called for Mc by midnight. VA gets what they deserve.

Sounds like the Dem strongholds are slow in reporting. Reminds me of the Cleveland and Miami vote tallies in Nov 2012. They waited to report until they knew how many votes they needed to put Obama over the top in Ohio and Florida. If Cuccunelli isn’t winning by 4-5%, they will manufacture the win for McAuliffe. Lie, cheat, steal......it’s the Dem way!

I hate to tell y’all this, but this is the Clinton crowd. You just KNOW they have some ballot boxes stuffed here and there.

I've got nothing against campaign ads per se. But negative ads are malum in se. They demoralize the populace and do nothing to educate, nor do they give any idea what the candidate's position is or what he actually would like to accomplish. Campaign ads should, in the words of a popular song "accentuate the positive, eliminate the negative." Let the broadcasters make their money with positive, informative ads.

Virginia is a suburb of DC. Housing prices are so jacked up in DC, and the liberal reality of Maryland is so scary that liberals have moved en masse to Virginia.

Most Republican leaning precincts have already been counted. There are scads of Democrat leaning counties yet to be counted.

Not only will McAuliffe win, he may win by a margin greater than the percentage of votes going to the Libertarian.

The only silver lining on this gray cloud is that the idiots who keep chiming in with "Don't waste your vote on Third Parties" won't have much to whine about.

Maybe....you should really offer proof about such accusations. Without it, you just sound paranoid.

As Attorney General, Cuccinelli should know exactly which ballot boxes should be guarded tonight and the recount should be filed immediately. If anyone thinks Democrats don’t steal most elections, they are stupid.

80% of 53 is 42.4. That’s Cuccinelli’s starting point.

The question is, did he pull enough people who support ObamaCare (possible that some ObamaCare supporters were pulled over to him because of McAuliffe’s corruption).

Fox isn’t reporting how the people who supported the law broke. That’s worrisome, because if they have the numbers for how it broke for Cuccinelli they also must have the numbers for how it broke for McAwful. But they aren’t releasing them.

Don’t worry, if the dims are close they will win the election in the northern Va DC suburbs. Or they will find enough votes in car trunks, trash cans, or Dim campaign headquarters to ensure MacThief wins.

“Fox News can report that Democrat Terry McAulliffe has a slight lead over Republican Ken Cuccinell”

this is not true , I am sitting here watching Fox and they are reporting Cuccinelli with the slight lead .
Who is spinning this story and why ?

WSLS had Cuccinellie ahead a point or two at 74% reporting.
Watch for the Obama effect where votes of the necessary amount magically appear from slow reporting predominately minority precincts. HOPE not but you know what I’m sain.
