The insurance companies saw nothing but dollar signs. They saw a way to increase profits and increase the number of insured, but part of that equation was to play their games to get the already-insured into more expensive policies.

The fun is going to start when people with subsidized policies find out about deductibles and getting the insurance company to pay for stuff.

The medical support system is going to be overwhelmed with the new Medicaid recipients getting all of their free stuff and then newly insured getting whatever they can because "it's covered".

And the insurance companies? The longer it is before their customers can be forced into more expensive policies, the more money they'll lose.

Meanwhile, for us average folk, for all pratical purposes good medical care when you really need it is just about over. Heal thyself.

“The fun is going to start when people with subsidized policies find out about deductibles and getting the insurance company to pay for stuff.”

This is the big unknown. It may be that many middle class people faced with high deductibles they cannot afford, and earning too much to obtain subsidies, will simply forgo all but emergency medical care resulting in premature death for many. In that even, demand for medical may actually decline instead of rise under Obamacare.

In that case the Democrats will be demanding evil insurance companies lower deductibles and reduce their “obscene” profits.
