The RNC Wants Partial Credit for Chris Christie's Re-Election
Atlantic Wire ^ | 11/5/13 | ABBY OHLHEISER

Shortly after the polls closed at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, the AP and other media outlets easily called the New Jersey governor's race for Republican incumbent Chris Christie, based on exit polls. He defeated Sen. Barbara Buono, a Democrat, by taking a third of the Democratic votes in the state, and two-thirds of independents. The win for the GOP in New Jersey will likely be in contrast to the expected results of a handful of other big races this Tuesday, including the New York City Mayor's race, and the Virginia governor's race.

That could be, in part, why the national RNC quickly made sure to mention its support for Christie's campaign in a congratulatory statement from chairman Reince Priebus:

In this race Governor Christie earned significant support among minority voters. That’s a testament to the success of his results-oriented leadership and an inclusive campaign. During this race, the RNC worked alongside the Christie campaign to engage early and often with Hispanic, African American and Asian voters.

Fatso refused calls from Cucinelli to come to VA and campaign with him.

He's got no shot at the POTUS nomination based on that alone.

they should get it. The democrats did not want to run against him. why would they? He works for their interests. The RNC is all about this kind of action. I give them credit.

I hope the RNC gets credit for Cuccinnelli’s loss. It’s theirs.

Fu*k the GOP-e,... and I have been a Republican all my life and have even run for office under their banner. They'll never get another dime from me and none of their endorsed candidates will get my vote either unless they are genuine conservatives.

I've had it with these political whores.

Does the RNC really think anything will left of Krispy, if nominated for the GOP ticket, when the media is done with him? Apparently he has no shortage of skeletons in his closet. This guy is both literally and figuratively a FAT target. He won’t even win his home state. The RNC has to know this and I can only surmise they have no interest in winning back the presidency.

“When the RNC calls for money, tell them no, that if Christy is the kind of candidate that they support as opposed to Cuccinelli, you will send your donations directly to specific candidates.”

I have told them a lot more than that this morning! Idiots must run the RNC. They could have helped Cuccinelli a lot more and won that race except for the fact they don’t want to be associated with the Tea Party!

If they don’t want to associate with me (Tea Party) I won’t bother associating my money with them either. And I sure as hell won’t be busting my *ss getting out the vote for them. Let’s see the elitist do grass roots organizing. Normal everyday working people hate the elitist RNC and their chosen candidates.

But, look who John McCain called in to save his *ss when he was running for reelection, Sarah Palin! I doubt they have figured out the obvious though.

IMO, the RNC would rather have Democrats win than have the Tea Party win. They proved that last night in Virginia!

I share that heritage AND I live in NJ. I’m not going to say it, but that’s exactly what you’re likely to get.

The RNC already earned partial credit for Terry McAuliffe’s election victory in Virginia, now they are trying to horn in on Christie’s win.

Just shows how sick the GOP has become. Christie’s election as a Republican is a disgrace.

Republicans in my county in WA, have backed the development of a coal terminal that is being push by Obama and the unions, against the well-being of the county and the state. The coal terminal will only provide 40 or so direct jobs and lots and lots of negative impacts, but the Republicans jumped on the union bandwagon and paid the price for it in the election, today.

Every single Republican candidate lost because of the coal terminal. They committed political suicide to support union jobs despite the overwhelming opposition of the voters. It was nuts.

The county council has the final say on the coal terminal, so its done now. There is no way that the project will be approved. They may as well pack up and go home.

Every time I get an envelope from the RNC it goes back with a Tea Bag in it NO MORE MONEY FROM ME! Rove can kis my behind!!!

Amen! I haven't given $$ to the RNC in well over a decade. We just send $$ to individual candidates across the country. Money MUCH better spent, IMO.

LOVE the tea bag idea! I'm going to do the same. :-)

Actually, I can't remember when I last got a piece of mail from the RNC. I think maybe they finally gave up on me, lol...

The RNC can take all the credit, and all of the bills. They can dress Christie up like the Pillsbury doughboy, and bounce him out come the 2015 primaries. I don’t expect better sense from them.

I agree, they proved that in VA.

I am thinking that we need a PAC to funnel donations to conservative candidates. I used to donate to the Congressional fund when it was headed by DeMint, but I have not donated since he left office.

We need a PAC that will vet candidates, both Republicans and Libertarians on the issues and where their money comes from. The PAC cannot have the TeaParty in the title. It would be good if the issues statement for the PAC could specify a constitutional approach to social issues, to prevent candidates from being side tracked on religion. Religion is a constitutional issue.

if it donates to Libertarians, I would never consider it.

Better yet, people should simply donate to the candidates they support.

If old cardiac infarction Chrispy Chreme ran with Sarah as VP nominee, we’d have a great chance of getting the first woman president.

No, it would be a Republican PAC and any quasi Libertarian would have to fully support a list of conservative positions to win financing.

I mentioned vetting Libertarians because the Libertarians are attempting to take over the Republican Party and a lot of young Libertarians are fooled by the ringers that are Liberals in disguise. I have actually been told by young Libertarians that they are closers to Democrats than Republicans because they take a Liberal approach to social issues. They don’t see the difference between a Liberal, big government approach and a live and let live approach that would be more Libertarian.
