US Secretary of State John Kerry acknowledged in a German newspaper on Thursday that “tensions” had arisen between the US and Germany over revelations of US espionage, but said relations would remain strong.

The German government is studying the possibility of questioning US fugitive leaker Edward Snowden in Russia after admitting he could be in danger of extradition if he were to come to Germany. …

Asked what needed to be done to repair US-German ties, Kerry said that Washington was talking with its German partners “about how we better coordinate our secret service efforts and, in doing so, can be considerate of the German concerns”. …

What an idiot. Screw the regime.

I trust our relationships with our EU Allies are at appropriate levels. God Bless them all.

For the naive Germans....this is a puzzle that cannot ever be put together.

Bringing Ed over to Germany...means that the US presents documents to hand Ed over. The treaty stipulates it, period. If the Germans fail to act, then the US starts to fail in handing over wanted German individuals in the US.

What great info does Ed have? Ed has a lot, but Ed just doesn’t want to give everything in one big bag. This needs to be drawn out....like a Dallas “Who-killed-JR” episode....lasting not just months, but years and years. Then and only then....does Ed get satisfaction.

The naive intellectual Germans continue to believe there’s a vast conspiracy. Course, if they shake the tree enough...they would find various details of the Stassi...leading back to various German political players of today, and Ed just have that list in his pocket. Ed also might have the list of secret contributions to various German political figures.

Germans are often in need of a diversion of sorts....something of entertainment value. For them, Ed is the perfect character.

Polls for Obama in Germany are almost as bad as in America.

Let’s see, 0bama screwed up relations with Germany by bugging Merkel’s personal cell phone.

0bama screwed up relations with Bolivia by downing their Presidential jet to get Snowden (failed).

0bama screwed up relations with Saudi Arabia by backing down from Syria and by supporting nuclear negotiations with Iran.

0bama screwed up relations with Egypt by ousting Mubarak and backing the Muslim Brotherhood.

0bama screwed up relations with Libya by bombing Tripoli, ousting Ghadafy, running guns from Benghazi to Syria, and supporting the breakaway Eastern provice.

0bama screwed up relations with Mexico by running guns to drug cartels there, and then by spying on Mexico’s Presidente.

0bama screwed up relations with Canada by delaying the Keystone Pipeline and threatening a global tax on Canada’s “environmentally unfriendly” oil.

0bama screwed up relations with Russia over our missile shield, Syria, Snowden, and gay rights.

0bama toured East and South Africa and screwed up relations there by telling them that they couldn’t have cars or air conditioning because “the planet would melt.”

0bama screwed up relations with Ecuador by threatening to topple their government if they gave Snowden asylum.

...for all of this, the nutty news media labels 0bama as a global peacemaker, diplomat, and enhancer of U.S. prestige.

Remarkable. This whole administration thinks they can screw up horribly and just get out there and fix things with words.

The essence of modern politics — it will all come out right, if I just say the right things. Doesn’t have to be true. Doesn’t have to be consistent. Doesn’t have to be logical. But if I say stuff that sounds good, everyone will smile and nod and everything will be fixed.

It’s how we elect our politicians, but out in the real world, this totally rhetorical approach is proving insufficient.

Good summation.

He thought foreign policy was ‘Community Organization’ on a slightly grander scale. Wrong!

“about how we better coordinate our secret service efforts and, in doing so, can be considerate of the German concerns”

Notice that this doesn't say "stop activities," just keep the German SS in the loop...
