We have a large arch that leads into a walled courtyard before you get to our front door. We recently put wrought iron all the way across that entrance. It has a large gate with a deadbolt lock on it. It stays locked so that no one can get to our front door without calling first.
And it really is a shame that it has to be this way.

Although, about 25 years ago my brotherIL was at a neighborhood bar, when three with guys came in to rob the place.
He was standing at the back door already and started running, to the first house. Pounded on the door, light came on and they refused to call the cops.
Next house agreed after he also said get an ambulance he was shot.
(Weird, he said he did not know he had been shot until he sat on the pouch and his pants were stuck to his leg with blood, He passed out...has a blood phobia)
Anyway, this girl killed by a rouge bullet is just strange.
But you'll never find these types writing about the far more numerous cases of blacks assaulting and killing whites. So while a person can feel sorry for the person killed (whether on purpose or by accident), the fact remains that white people are going to be very suspicious of black people knocking on their doors. (Just in the last few weeks in Indianapolis there's been two or three cases of black thugs breaking into white people's houses and assaulting them.) It's shame it's like that, but black race-hustlers can only look in their mirror. The staggeringly high rate of violent, black crime should make everybody suspicious.

It’s almost certain to be trouble of one kind or another. I’ve had things like this happen to me before. A couple of years ago I had a loud knock at the door around 3:00 in the morning, very persistent. I answered the door not pointing a gun at anyone, but, with gun in-hand. It was a girl, late teens or early twenties who wanted a ride to the local police station. She wasn’t carrying anything and had an odd story but she didn’t seem to be under the influence of anything. The trip to the police department was only about ten minutes so I sort of figured it was better for all involved if I got her there instead of her continuing to wander the streets all morning long. I took her, dropped her off, and, never heard another word about the matter.

This case has no relationship to the Trayvon Martin case. Leftists and race baiters continue to ignore the many decisions and actions by St. Trayvon that led his being shot in self-defense.
This homeowner might be guilty of something, but more information is needed than what is presented is this totally biased article.
You're not looking at it with the Left's eyes... all that matters is that non-blacks are not allowed to kill blacks... just as non-blacks may not say "nigga", despite it being uttered every 10-15 words in all of the top 25 rap and hip-hop songs on the charts.
10,365 blacks were killed between Trayvon's (just) killing, and Zimmerman's (equally just) acquittal. The MSM did not care one whit about them. They only care about non-thugs killing thugs. Only THEN can they "see" any potential "injustice".
Take one look at REAL crime numbers - the percentage of crimes committed by the 6% of the population that's black, young and male - and you'd clutch your purse too James...
A person would have to be brain-dead NOT to notice how violent and criminal black young men are...
The MSM overlooks reality in their quest for cheap victim-hood. Women don't 'clutch their purses' when they see a group of young Jews walking toward them - or young Japanese or young whites or young Vietnamese... or young Frenchmen or young Brits or young Norwegians or young .. anyone.
Maybe James E. Causey would be kind enough to point out the criminal flash mobs made up of Irish kids, or German youth, or Swedish teenagers...
