Students face expulsion from school for pulling gun on home intruder
UK Daily Mail ^ | November 9, 2013 | Ryan Gorman

Two Gonzaga University seniors are on the verge of being expelled after using a gun to defend themselves from a career criminal trying to break into their apartment.

Erik Fagan and Dan McIntosh, who both live in an off-campus near the school’s Spokane, OR., campus, were accosted last month by a man demanding money while standing in the door of their apartment.

Mr Fagan offered food and a blanket, but declined to give ex-con John Taylor any money, he told KHQ. Mr Taylor then tried to fight his way into the apartment but was scared off by Mr McIntosh’s hand gun.

Now, I can't blame the students for their actions, and in fact they put up with the crumby perp far longer than I would have. So, I hope they do not get expelled. But I also have to reluctantly agree that the university is probably within its legal rights here, as sucky as their decision is.

Yeah, that is a pretty critical omission. Stupid rule, but it's their property. But under those circumstances, why would anyone agree to live there?

I wonder what the reaction would be if these were young women instead of men. Or how much media attention this would be getting if this “career criminal” hadn't found himself facing armed resistance. The frequent criminal activity in that area gets overlooked a lot because it might make Gonzaga look bad, and that's not about to be allowed to happen.
Gonzaga may be a prestigious and well regarded university with a good basketball team, but it's not a safe area, especially when the sun isn't up.

The apartments the students were living in are owned and run by the school.

Destruction of the society that is based on God’s Law is their motivation,

and that’s why they side with criminals.

Sue the pants off them. Ruin careers. Break up families. Make their children cry.

It’s inherently obvious that the security that they
inherently agreed to provide by requiring residents to be defenseless

was criminally negligent in defending those students.

Yep, counter-suit.

It’s sad when the UK reports what our Pravda won’t.

They’re alive. It’s worth it. Finish their education somewhere else.

If we’re to call ourselves “Free Men” we should behave as such.

They did. Case closed.

The university’s weapons policy forbids the possession of weapons… in both on-campus and off-campus housing,’

As much as I would like for the gentlemen involved to be obsolved of wrong doing. I did hear that this was University owned/operated off campus housing. If so the university rules do apply. However, some rationality should apply given the situation.

Thankfully, the criminals obayed the “no weapons” signs. Oh wait, never mind.

Amen, brother.

Boys, y'all quit that p*ssified finishing school for young ladies, and come on down to By-God Texas. We 'preciate young fellers like you, and our doors are open to anybody who thinks like you do.

The university's rules are void if the price of compliance is beatings, injury, and possibly death.

The university did not discharge their responsibility to keep safe, and that washes all deals.

I'm sorry, but I wouldn't have even called the cops after this guy fled. You're in your own home. Nobody got shot. The crime was only an attempt, and I'm sure the criminal wasn't going to call the cops on the guy who pulled the gun.

Given the mentality of universities nowadays, it just ain't worth the headache.

Oh, and another point. The apartment is technically off campus, but it’s owned by the school and inhabited by full-time students. But I’d bet you dollars to donuts that when a crime occurs at these off-campus, school-owned residences the school leaves them off the school’s official crime stats since they did not occur “on campus.” G-d I despise these people.

Rationality, from a Catholic-run school?

Not going to happen. They’re decidedly anti-gun, and probably quite proud to tout this.

“...We ‘preciate young fellers like you, ...”

A most gracious offer, my friend, and mucho appreciated. I would LOVE to be in Texas... one of the states I always wanted to see. Haven’t gotten west of Ohio - yet.

My only problem is that I feel like I’d be abandoning - running away, that is - from my OWN beloved PA, and leaving it for the libtards to overrun.

We seem to be the Last Bastion of Gun Rights on the northern East Coast. And this good ol’ boy - like his colors - don’t run... This is a great gunny state, hunters and shooters galore; we have to put up with the idiot parasites in Philadelphia and other cities, but that’s anywhere you go. I’m sure you have them in Texas too.

The more of us there are - and we ARE everywhere - the more nervous it makes the idiots on the other side.

And that, my friend, is a GOOD thing.

“..rules are void if the price of compliance is beatings, injury, and possibly death....”

Spot-on. When some stupid law endangers MY LIFE and MY FAMILY’S LIVES, I am under zero obligation to obey it, and I will do whatever is necessary - by any means necessary - to ensure my personal survival and that of those around me.

Pretty much period. I’ll have my day - AND my say - in Court with a jury of my peers. And I will make damn sure they ARE In fact my peers.

Again - If we’re to call ourselves “Free Men” we need to start behaving like it.

We take back what is ours one Citizen at a time.
