Ex-Hospital CEO Sentenced to 18 Months in Prison (Future ACA Navigator)

A former president of the Hospital for Special Surgery was sentenced Thursday to 18 months in prison for his role in a kickback scheme that netted him $300,000.

The former executive, John Reynolds, left HSS in October 2006 with a $1.4 million severance package. Mr. Reynolds was chief financial officer between 1986 and 1997, when the Manhattan hospital promoted him to CEO. He left that post in October 2006 and was a contract employee at HSS through December 2008.
