This fast food establishment allegedly in Ephrata is looking for new employees, but they have someone specific in mind which is creating quite a stir.
As the sign says:
“Now Hiring Must Be Mexican
I’m not exactly sure of the reasoning. Maybe none of the current staff can speak español or perhaps they need to fulfill their EEO report, I’m not exactly sure. What do you think? Do you find this sign offensive or are you okay with their honesty.

It’s Burger King and discrimination. Please let some 18 yr old white kid sue...
That’s just wrong. They can ask for people who speak Spanish. But wrong to ask for only Mexicans. In my youth I was working at a gas station when it got a new owner, a Mexican. I speak some Spanish (I have no latin heritage), so he kept me while bringing in his own staff. But one day I mangled a phone call from a customer so he let me go. I did’nt care because he was a crook cheating his Mexican customers.

Probably means must speak Spanish, but the Mexicans already working at that Burger King are to dumb to put that on the sign.
Who can’t learn to say “Whopper” and “Fries” in English?
I honestly wouldn’t be offended by it and it wouldn’t bother me at all IF we could put up signs that read “Now Hiring Must be Heterosexual,” or “Now Hiring Must be Christian,” or “Now Hiring Must be Jewish,” etc. But until then, it ought to go.
If the PC storm troopers lay off of bakeries, caterers, florists, etc. who refuse to service gay wedding receptions on religious and moral grounds, then MAYBE I wouldn’t have a problem with this.

it MUST be a crime to advertise only for a certain ethnicity, but that was the quaint old rule of law that we don't follow anymore.

Very few leaves left around here since the last two wind storms.
These jobs used to be for teenagers. These immigrants were not brought in because of a teenager shortage, they just crowded out the teenagers. This is why the black youth unemployment rate is so fantastically high, and they see no future and get into gangs and shoot each other. These types of jobs were a way into the work force for Americans, and now it isn't there.
Legalizing illegals, raising the minimum wage, and expanding EBT for the people crowded out, is trying to fix the wrong problems. Just get Americans back into these jobs, and it will fix a lot of problems.
For what it’s worth, I went to the Burger King Facebook page where someone had left the following message to someone else....
“They responded back to me said it happened last summer they fired the person who posted the sign they encourage diversity all races.”
I don’t navigate Facebook very well....someone else may be able to find something a little more....authoritative.
