Obama building 'compliant officer class' (the purpose of the military purge)
WND ^ | 11/16/2013 | F. Michael Maloof

Posted on 11/13/2013 6:03:06 AM PST by RoosterRedux

Since WND’s ongoing coverage of what some top generals are openly calling a “purge” of senior military officers who run afoul of Obama or his agenda, some military personnel have been speaking out.

According to a veteran Army intelligence official who spoke to WND on condition of anonymity, there is within the armed forces a major concern that a “compliant officer class” is being created by the Obama administration. So much so, he said, that it’s becoming harder and harder to find “senior officers with a pair of balls in there [the military] now that would say no to anything.”

“Maybe at the rank of major or below, and possibly there are some in SOF (Special Operations Forces), but to make colonel and higher is all politics,” he said.

To underscore this concern, the official said almost no public concern was expressed by officers to the recent repeal of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy or the decision to allow women into front-line combat.

“I didn’t read one piece of resistance to the DADT repeal, and I haven’t seen one peep about females in the infantry,” he said.

His comments echo those of retired generals who have expressed alarm over the high rate of dismissals of high-ranking officers in the Obama administration.

Retired Army Maj. Gen. Patrick Brady, a recipient of the U.S. military’s highest decoration, the Medal of Honor, told WND Obama’s agenda is decimating the morale of the U.S. ranks to the point that members no longer feel prepared to fight or have the desire to win.

“There is no doubt [Obama] is intent on emasculating the military and will fire anyone who disagrees with him” over issues as “homosexuals, women in foxholes, the Obama sequester” said Brady, former president of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society.

“Compliant” with orders to disarm, oppress, and exterminate citizenry that resists the collectivist takeover of America.

There aren't enough military to do that in the armed United States. The military couldn't do it in a little country like Afghanistan.

Obama is in lock step with the same crowd that has hated and despised the military since Vietnam. They were the radicals in the streets of Chicago in 1968, throughout academia and the media since and now sitting in the White House and Congress. They have no love whatsoever for the military or veterans and view the active force as nothing more than a left wing social laboratory. Gender neutral physical standards mean the minimum female standards will be used for everyone and other standards will be lowered as well. Radical, aggressive homosexuals already are making their presence known as are atheists. If this crowd can destroy or severely cripple the military before they leave town in January 2017, they will consider their reign a success. The next President needs to fire every three and four star officer who meekly went along with this too. Clean house and start over with officers who put their country and military ahead of their careers and personal interests.

One reason Obamacare is imploding is that he’s filled his administration with yes men, and nobody is willing to come and tell him the truth when he’s pursuing a bad idea.

Should work out really well to replicate that within the military.

Johnny,

The rules of Engagement are against our guys in Afghanistan. I would be willing to bet that the ROE here in America, in the case of Civil War, would be very relaxed. ie: Shoot First, ask questions later... Oh... no survivors? They must have been rebels then.

Every regiment in the old Red Army included a political officer that insured "compliance" and made sure no one spoke any unorthodoxy.

In fact, all decisions had to first clear the political officer.

It stands to reason that obama would follow the template.

Well.......one CAN make full colonel based on performance, sufficient command time, required schools, etc. As long there isn’t an unresolved EO or IG complaint, it can be done and the main obstacle is finding an O-6 slot to be promoted into.

But since all promotions to flag or general officer require Senate confirmation, it indeed becomes political at those grades.

My Dad knew this. He spent the last fifteen years of his career as a colonel with a stack of Legion of Merit awards in lieu of promotion. Dad once gave Sen. Edward Kennedy a piece of his mind for denigrating in committee the character of his boss, a USAF LTG (I heard all this third hand). Kennedy later hissed to the Secy Army, “no gawddamn chicken colonel talks to ME like that and gets away with it!!”

Still not enough if you run the numbers. Logistics win wars.

You cut the supply lines, you cut the head off of the snake.

As a 1st LT with one year time-in-grade, I was appointed as the Battalion S-4 (Supply Officer) of a Chaparral/Vulcan battalion in Germany. Our mission was airbase defense, and we had units spread out over 50 mile radius from Battalion HQ.

I was ideally suited for the job, as my degree was in accounting, so handling the budget was second nature. I had also lived in the area for 3+ years, and I had gotten to know many of the bakery & restaurant proprietors.

For our battalion tac eval, I followed the guidance of my boss to be "imaginative". I put together contingency plans for resupply that included these proprietors by name. When I gave the briefing, the "old man" was cracking up as he was observing the reactions of the evaluators.

After the briefing, the team chief wanted to know "how the hell you came up with this BS." I told the LTC it wasn't BS, and he was welcome to join me in visiting the bakery, market, or gasthaus of his choice. I advised him that I was following the directives of my Battalion Commander to be "imaginative, innovative, and independent".

He left me alone the remaining 3 days, and we were rated C-1, thanks to the efforts put forth by the entire battalion. Most of the officers I worked with were hardly "compliant". We were loyal to our Bn CDR & XO, who demanded our best, but let us do our jobs. When I screwed up, they let me know in no uncertain terms, but the "discussion" was forgotten 5 minutes later.

A "compliant" officer corps won't be able to react nearly as quickly as the units I served with. They'll wait to receive orders from higher HQ, and will lose valuable time in the process.

Sorry to go off-topic, but to close, our military's not large enough to deal with small insurgent elements over a country the size of the US.

It’s been going on for decades. We haven’t had a war big enough to be a real threat to our military. How many Colonels and Generals have been killed in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan? How about Admirals? How many of our generals and admirals have made that rank because of their actions in combat? What did they do to make that rank? You know what happens when you disagree with your boss in the military? You don’t get fired. They can’t fire you if you’re doing your job. You just don’t get the magic code words in your evaluations. The magic code words that get you promoted. You don’t get the jobs that get you promoted. You don’t get the schools that get you promoted. The military wants obedient Officers. It takes a big war to force the careerists to quit.

Is America truly armed anymore? Or are most arms now stockpiled by a few? Reports seen of Afghanistan/ Pakistan etc. suggests a culture much different from what I see in America. The founders were rightly observant of the danger of a standing Army—and the necessity of armed citizens.

I am reminded that the O loves to be photographed tossing bones to his dogs. ( Awarding the CMH etc. Can’t help but think he does So NOT to honor those who earned such award —but simply as a means of Power over a Military he abuses so. I recall seeing it was some well fed Brass in Dress Greens who applauded his CINC when the O announced the war in Afghanistan will soon be over? Meanwhile all the true Warriors are being removed to build a Compliant Officer Corps. And the “progressive” Republicans are equally to blame for this evil Administration as are the Communists and their dupes in the Democratic Party.

but to make colonel and higher is all politics,” he said.

That has been going on for years, but got much worse after 0 bummer was emaculated. I'm glad I retired two years ago.

I'd like to amplify some of our comments. You all know my background, from what perspective I talk about, so here goes:

All of us know that flag-rank officers are politicians, but the rot begins at O-5. That's when you start getting those cherry slots on General Staff, and more time around the flagpole. That's when the networking begins, when your name gets whispered in the right ears.

The name of the game is "Command Time". NOTHING brightens up a personnel jacket like a Command OER. In MI for example, only 1 officer in 4 had any chance of a leadership slot. I have known officers who would run down children in the street if it meant they'd get a green-tab.

Yes, there is a litmus test for the current officer corps. But here's the dirty secret: it's on the NCO side as well. Senior NCO's (E-7 to E-9) are being cycled out as fast as the officers. Anyone who remembers the days of the old armed services are being purged, and there are no examples for the young troops to see and emulate.

Do not deceive yourselves into thinking that "there aren't enough troops to clamp down on all us patriots". Odinga has not only Big Army and Big Marine at his call. He also has DHS, TSA, IRS, ATF, DEA, and a host of other alphabets. There are state police forces and governors who are loyal. Many police forces are unionized, so they're loyal. And one-eighth of the population has been weaponized by the Leftists, the merest threat of them boiling out of the urban kraals can change the course of national elections.

That's the muscle, and there's also the heart/mind dimension to factor in. State-sponsored media is in his pocket. CNN, NPR and PBS are on the government payroll. CBS, NBC, MSNBC and ABCDisney don't need money, they are already motivated followers. We are watching Faux cave in realtime. And never forget the Cyber-Warriors for Obama, the fake accounts all over the Web, the paid trolls. A target population is far easier to control if they are compliant and passively accepting what's done to them.

Were there ANY reports, ANY AT ALL, of people resisting the Boston lockdown as it happened?

The battle for hearts and minds has already been won and lost. We have a passive population of herd animals, soothed into silence by sweet noises from the media, and scared into submission by the weaponized elements of society. And how do you pacify a population of sheep? You separate the rams...

The cheering was how brave the police were. Myself and one member of this forum had a difference of opinion on the bravery of the police. It was and still is my opinion that the police that were doing that were and still are thugs with badges. They were just cowering the sheep into submission.

I personally knew the 05 and a CW4 at the root of the assault of GW Bush and the faked Dan Rather AF document story. I never liked either before the stuff hit the fan. I know three E9s who were not selected for retention for their "non compliant" views.
