Just 1 percent of Bay Staters facing canceled health plans have successfully signed up

Just weeks before a Jan. 1 enrollment deadline, state officials admitted yesterday that just 1 percent of the 150,000 Bay Staters facing canceled heath insurance under Obamacare rules have signed up for new plans.

Massachusetts Health Connector officials told the Herald that only 549 applicants — out of the 150,000 Bay Staters forced to switch their health plans to comply with Obamacare rules — are poised to receive insurance through the new system.

Technically, officials explained, even those few haven’t actually enrolled in new health plans yet.

“No, nobody’s enrolled,” said Scott Devonshire, chief information officer of the Massachusetts Health Connector, “because enrollment ... doesn’t happen until a (health plan) carrier receives payment. It’s a semantics issue, I guess.”

The people who supported the passage of Obamacare don't seem to be concerned about the fact that Obamacare has caused a net increase in the number of people without health insurance.

I’m afraid there may be thousands or tens-of-thousands of deaths because Obama, Pelosi and the Democrats have screwed up healthcare.

There’s no telling how much chaos Screwtape has created this time.

Not to be anal but 1% of 150,000 is 1,500 not 589. 589 is about 0.38%.

This is hilarious. MA already had "RomneyCare" forced insurance, which is subsidized by the feds to make it look good. So now, the people are having to leave their forced insurance for forced more insurance.

We should all face it. We can no longer depend on medical treatment if we need it. Get some good books about the topic, and heal thyself.
