Hundreds of gun violence prevention advocates from around the country took to the halls of Congress today calling on members to expand effective Brady background checks to online and gun show sales.
"Background checks work and they save lives," said Sarah Brady, Chair, Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. "Twenty years ago this month Congress had the will to take on the corporate gun lobby and pass the Brady law. Since then, two million purchases have been denied to people like convicted felons, domestic abusers, and fugitives. There is still work to be done, thousands of sales go unchecked every day at gun shows and on the internet," added Mrs. Brady. "Now it's time for Congress to finish the job and extend background checks to all commercial gun sales."
"With every new story of terror, every senseless act of gun violence, with every life cut short, we are reminded of our need for action to keep our families safe and our communities secure," Leader Pelosi said. "Today, victims of gun violence stood up to advance the cause of gun violence prevention. Congress must find the political courage to do the same."

Try being chased by a gang of punks intent on killing you like what happened to me 30 years ago and see if they are against guns. That’s allllll I thought about when they were chasing me 90 mph down the highway. I was in a Jack in box and these punks walked in high on something and one of them punched me for no reason so I punched him back then saw he had about 10 friends who followed me out to the parking lot and proceeded to trash my car then pulled knives and tire irons almost taking my head off with one and just by some miracle I got in my car and almost ran one of them over and tore down the street thinking I was safe until they pulled up along side me at a stoplight got out and smashed my window then it was a run for my life going through stoplights anything to get a cop involved, of course none did. And this went on for an HOUR. My legs were shaking like a leaf, my mouth was dry as hell...I really thought I was going to die. Then just by sheer luck going down a one way street I pulled up on the grass and drove around a truck just missing a telephone pole which blocked them and that was how I got away. But absolutely no doubt if they trapped me, they would have killed me. And the whole time ALL I kept thinking about was a GUN! These people have NO idea what the F they are talking about when it comes to guns. The world isn’t all peaches and cream out there, at any time you can have someone hellbent on taking your life and the only thing that decides whether you live or die is by sheer luck or lethal force. Instead of talking about “the lives saved” by gun control they should talk about the lives LOST by gun control! All the gas station attendants, late night 24 hour convenience store clerks slaughtered because they were sitting ducks. All the victims of rape, assault, flat out murder because they had absolutely no way to defend themselves and it’s absolutely outrageous because it’s a CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHT no different from freedom of speech!

I’m confused by the headline when they say “finish the job” are they talking about Brady or gun control?
It is getting to the point that many Americans only have left are their guns. I think they intend to use them.
Hinkley shot the wrong Brady.
They want to ban private sales. They know that if they came out and said that, they would get zero support.
So they lie.
Like all gun control Nazis always do.
1. Gun purchases at gun shows and online are sent to federally licensed firearm dealers who run background checks.
2. Violent criminals do not obtain firearms through legal means.
3. Background checks do not stop people who are intent on committing violence.
4. The American people including gun owners overwhelming support dealing with violent people which are the root cause of violence, not their weapons.
You might want to add the fact the the liberals closed the mental health facilities many years ago. Many of the perpetrators of gun violence really should have been in a mental health facility for treatment, especially the Sandy Hook killer.
Thanks to the liberals we have crazy people out there stealing guns and killing innocent people.
