Reid Statement On Affordable Care Act
United States Senate Democrats ^ | Nov 14, 2013 | Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid

Posted on 11/14/2013 4:51:33 PM PST by mdittmar

Washington, D.C. – Nevada Senator Harry Reid issued the following statement regarding President Obama’s fix to the Affordable Care Act:

“Today we saw a clear contrast: Democrats are working to fix and improve the Affordable Care Act, while Republicans still want to go back to the days when insurance companies could deny people coverage for pre-existing conditions, treat being a woman as a pre-existing condition, and watch health care costs drive families into bankruptcy. The fix proposed by President Obama today is an important step towards addressing a problem that has arisen and if we need to do more, we will.

“Republicans should stop listening to the extremist voices in their party who only want to repeal the benefits of the Affordable Care Act. Whenever Republicans decide to stop rooting for failure, roll up their sleeves and get to work, we stand ready and willing to work with them and find common ground.”

Am I dreaming here, or didn't Obama propose exactly what Reid claims Republicans want - for people to be able to keep their pre-Obamacare policies? Man, you just can't make this tom foolery up.

We're Democrats and we believe that if at first you don't succeed, fail, fail again.

The Anthem Blue Cross Plan that I had before Medicare had higher rates for women than men until some point in the 60s.

I called and asked if that had to do with maternity benefits, since I no longer needed them, but they said no it had nothing to do with maternity benefits.

Harry Obama Carey strikes again. Never forget that this plan originated in the Senate, so how come it wasn’t perfected then could someone please ask him?

This man is a servant of Mordor. A truly hateful, hateful, hateful little man. Didn’t pubbies suggest a delay in exchange for raising the debt ceiling? Yes they did.

Didn’t Harry little man O’Carey and the Dems shut down the government rather than agree to a delay? Yes they did.

Did he just attack the pubbies cause they now want the delay? Does this mean that they shut down the government just for spite, and to show their power? Yes they did.

Can’t the pubbies just tell them that the only way to honor the commitment to let citizens keep their plans and doctors is to repeal O’Carey? Yes they can.

Can’t they “fix” the so called problems without hurting all the people who already have insurance. Yes they can, but there is no way on God’s green earth that they can do it and keep Obama Carey.

Lord help us all. Please deliver us from the evil of Fedzilla. I pray for the salvation and restoration of our Republic.

They were proud of it two weeks before the roll out. They were saying the republicans would be taking credit for it.

it might be based on longevity rates, they live longer and may have more long term problems/payouts. who knows.

all i know is libtards only care about this when it seems/appears women are paying more than men, and they generally don’t care if it’s because of genuine differences in coverage, or not.

Well, I am sure it’s based on some statistical situation, I just don’t know what. It reversed somewhere in the 60s with men paying more than women after that.

Libs have no clue about economics, business, or how insurance has to work to stay in business. Nor do they care. They just know how they “feel”. It’s all emotion and no logic, as far as I can tell.

“Another cowardly lie by Harry Roid.

a) Insurance companies run their business using statistics

b) Fair insurance rates make the high-users of medical care pay more. It’s all statistics”

male life insurance rates are higher than females.
lawsuit.

Harry Reid is another co-conspirator like Nancy Pelosi that will sing this tune right up to the hangman’s noose.

Dingy Harry is carrying Obama's stagnant water - makes one wonder if he and Reggie Love are competitors for Obama's affections...

"...insurance companies could deny people coverage for pre-existing conditions". Don't we all wish we could buy car insurance after causing a collision? Or once our home burns down? Same thing.

The above and the idiotic requirement that 26 year olds be covered by their parents' policies are THE death of insurance companies since it's obvious so few want Fedgov healthcare of even State healthcare. Don't even need to discuss the Medicare/Medicaid issues, nor the lies about keeping your Doctor and plans. The fact that you can get "insurance" AFTER you're diagnosed with a disease is the death knell of insurance. It doesn't even equate in Websters.

All were correct. This debacle was designed to fail from the start. Fortunately, every day many are seeing how Fedgov intrusion is costing them and could kill them. If the idiot Pubbies will just distance them from this disaster, it may wake up a lot of LIV's. Seems too be doing just that in a small way. Give it time, this monstrosity will die of it's own weight. There is no fix to it. Obama, Reid, Pelosi, and all the Democrats will go down in history as trying to ruin the best medical system.

Major talking point!

Not One Republican Voted To Take Your Medical Choices Away.
Not One!
This Is All DemocratCare AND It Is NOT Free!
