Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) said in an interview broadcast Sunday that the 2016 GOP presidential ticket should be made up of governors, not members of Congress.
"I think it's got to be an outsider," Walker said on ABC's "This Week With George Stepahnopoulos." "I think both the presidential and the vice presidential nominees should either be a former or current governor, people who have done successful things in their states, who've taken on big reforms, who are ready to move America forward."
"So that rules out Marco Rubio, it rules out Ted Cruz, it rules out Rand Paul," said ABC's Jonathan Karl.
Walker responded, "All good guys, but it's got to be somebody who is viewed as being exceptionally remote from Washington."
What about home state Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.)?
"I love Paul Ryan. Paul Ryan, if he had a fan club, I'd be the president of that," said Walker.
Walker is himself a potential 2016 White House contender. He declined to rule out the possibility on Sunday. First, though, he faces reelection in 2014. Asked whether he would commit to serving out a second term as governor, Walker said he has never made such a commitment.
"To me it's not about the time you serve in office, I feel right now, my calling is to be the governor in the state of Wisconsin. That's where I'm called to," said Walker.

In any case, that is what it says to me.
I can’t honestly think of a governor I would want as president.
I tend to agree.
However, the devil’s in the details. Not all GOP governors are created equal.
He’s dead right. Governors know how to run stuff and have a track record that goes beyond dining with lobbyists and going on tax-paid junkets.
If you haters ever find a candidate you like that more than 10 people would vote for, let us know.
Yep, I agree with Walker.
Governors make better Presidents. “Better” defined as effective in putting through agendas.
A study of history will show that to be the case; governors are administrators and delegate and direct. In the best cases they are men like Reagan—”big picture” guys who know how to pick reasonable men to carry out their directives.
Not one is perfect, but the Presidency is an executive, administrative job—and a legislator is one of 500, working to “compromise” with the other 499 know-it-alls.
Governors are where we need to look—preferably men who have succeeded within the private sector as well.

Walker’s opponent said the hate whitey mobs were non racist.
Vitter is a better candidate than Jindal for higher office.
Id like to see Jeff Sessions or Steve King play games with Rand Paul’s hispandering.
Id trust Kasich or Branstad more than any of the other governors.

I agree. The GOP has a lot of them right now, but I don’t think any are as stoutly conservative or charismatic as the circumstances require.
Cruz and Palin are the party’s top talent right now.
If the GOP finds a conservative to vote for, let the conservatives know. All they run is liberals.
