I saw it live. He bumped into her accidentally. But naturally, that means he “attacked her.”

Without appearing to approve of Ford's antics, fair is fair and what happened should not be misdescribed.
Ford was rushing aroud in the council chambers and accidentaly bumped into the lady, knocking he off her feet.
He caught her and helped her upright, thereby stopping her from falling into the council furnishings and getting injured.
