Jeb Bush: 'I'm a conservative' (Running for president?)
CNN ^ | November 19, 2013 | Ashley Killough

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush predicted Monday night Congress would pass a series of immigration bills next year and touted his conservative credentials as he talked about his thought process on a potential 2016 presidential bid.

In a wide-ranging, onstage interview at the 92nd Street Y in New York City, Bush said he didn't necessarily agree with his mother, who joked there have been "enough Bushes" in the White House.

The Spanish-speaking former governor also took a slight dig at another potential 2016 contender, Sen. Ted Cruz, for his Spanish language skills.

'I'm a conservative'

At one point in the discussion, moderated by Fordham law professor Thane Rosenbaum, Bush was asked whether the tea party could coexist with moderates like himself and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie.

Feigning shock that he was called a moderate, Bush argued that his style may be different but he's still a conservative at heart....

I'm a Conservative.

I can see it now:

He would dust off the old Goldwater slogan, "In your heart, you know he's right", but in fact, it's just an act!

Jeb was a good governor of Florida. Far better him than some loony Democrat. But I never liked him and he would be awful as president. Hes the RINO poster boy

Bill Gates, Jeb Bush, Oprah and Warren Buffett meeting at SC island
Posted: May 10, 2013 10:39 AM CST

CHARLESTON, SC -

Bill Gates, Chairman of Microsoft and one of the richest people in the world, is spending time in the Lowcountry.

WCBD confirmed the American business magnate is at the Sanctuary on Kiawah Island.

Suspicion was raised when nearly 20 very expensive jets were seen lined up at the Charleston International Airport on Johns Island.

Officials with the Beach Company confirmed to WCBD that other big names such as New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, TV host Oprah Winfrey and Billionaire Warren Buffet flew into the Charleston Executive airport on Johns Island Wednesday night.

Other prominent people said to also be staying there this weekend are Jeb Bush and Dan Gilbert, owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The famous guests were attending a two day long conference led by Microsoft founder Bill Gates. Officials say the meeting was about the foundation Gates and his wife Linda run.

The meeting rented out the entire Sanctuary Hotel on the gated island. Security has been high throughout the entire week, keeping the public away from the hotel.

WCBD spoke to the Mayor of Kiawah by phone who said the town is happy to serve as host to the event.

“We wish them luck with what they’re doing,” Mayor Charles Lipuma said. “If they want to play golf, they couldn’t have picked a better weekend. We are glad we could offer them great weather.”

RE: Jeb Bush: ‘I’m a conservative’

OK Jeb, give us your reasons as to why you call yourself a conservative.

You can start with the words: “I am a conservative because...”

No, Jeb you’re a republican. Most of us understand that though you and people like you want the words republican and conservative to be interchangable they aren’t.

Why do they want to SAY they are conservative and then scramble so far to the left

Don’t they think the same reason it is attractive to SAY they are conservative will be attractive when running for election, and governing???????

No political dynasties. Jeb Bush could be Ronaladus Magnus Redux, and I would still oppose him. No more Bushes, no more Clintons.

Yo Jeb, you're 60 years old and a former governor of Florida. If your actions reflected and upheld conservative principals you wouldn't have to announce that you're conservative.

Right now your game is

Voodoo Politics

To put it words you understand,

No soy zombie.

Soy ciudadano Americano
No mas Arbustos!

...and Jeb, day by day you're looking more and more like Karl Rove, another turdblossom.

Guess we need a new word: Bush Conservative—maybe? Hurts Jebbies feelings when we call him a moderate. I just call him, his brother , and their Pappy half-assed. 41 broke faith with Reagan. Jebbie just talks double sided krap. 43’s failing to clean out the Clinton mess will forever classify him as half-assed for me. And that is the source of many of our current problems. We’ve had enough Bush.
