The White House is "as sorry as we can be" that a Washington state woman held up as an example of the success of the Affordable Care Act marketplaces appears to be falling through the cracks, press secretary Jay Carney said Tuesday.
In mid-October, President Obama cited single mother Jessica Sanford as an exchange success story after she wrote to him after being able to sign up for insurance in early October. She's since learned that her state's system miscalculated her tax credit and that her out-of-pocket costs will be substantially higher than expected.

wow...and this is on Politico....
Funny how they had this one example. And couldn’t even make a success out of it. This will wreak further damage on the obama wrecking ball for america and his “cause’ for destruction.
Is this this white house’s version of ‘Better put some ice on that’?
She thought other people would be subsidizing her health care, and here she has to subsidize theirs!
They are sorry all right.
That is the sorriest pack of corrupt Liars I ever saw.
Have there been any success stories that were, as I say, true??
I can’t believe the White Hut even acknowledged she existed now that she is of no use to them.
WA State’s computerized Obamacare web site not only miscalculated this woman’s government subsidies, it miscalcalculated the subsidies of all 7000 people that signed up for Obamacare.
They all must reapply. So, WA State, as far as I know, has no sign ups except those who have applied in the past two weeks.
Weren’t they “sorry” about the non-free rent and gas for the car woman too?
Obama needs to reach in his stash and pay the poor woman’s bills! (With his own money!)
No it won’t. The only way people know about things is if the MSM reports it.
The MSM will flat out ignore it. Shh.... nothing to see here. Move along. Move along.
Just take the little pill, my dear. You won’t feel a thing. It’s all for the Greater Good...
Obama and his crowd of supporters and politicians are both IDIOTS ... and ... EVIL at the same time.
Truly an apt adjective appropriate for our current administration!
“Sorry you misunderstood our remarks.”
Funny and strange at the same time. A woman who used to work for me many years ago was pleasantly surprise her NY Exchange plan was so low due to “tax credits”.
Fast forward 2 weeks and she gets an e-mail telling her she must reapply and when she went back into the web site all her data was gone and had to be re-entered and then the sticker shock hit her.
Even in NYS which has always had very high requirements for policies and should not have been a big hit to enroll in CACA © (Can’t Afford Care Act) but she was faced with a huge premium hit for a higher deductible and higher co-pay!
Seems like both state exchanges were dealing with bogus numbers and then had to immediately go back on their original agreement.
Think they’ll ‘fix’ her?
Which pill, the blue pill or the red one?
You will never hear from her again.
I read this story this morning. It’s ridiculous. She was totally mis-informed not once, but twice and maybe thrice, because although it appears her son was enrolled in medicaid he may not in fact be eligible, so who knows if or when they’ll catch that error. Plus this - if your kids do get enrolled in medicaid it is pretty much impossible to un-enroll them, even if it was done by mistake.
How many others are out there just like this woman?
OK we can laugh at her, but it’s not really funny at all.
First Obama said ‘’Sorry.’’ Now they’re saying they’re ‘’as sorry as we can be.’’ What’s next, when the ObamaCare site inevitably doesn’t work on December 1st — ‘’We’re sorry we have to keep saying we’re sorry’’? Or more likely, ‘’We NEVER said the site would be ready on December 1st.’’
(Background chorus: "Oh no! Not the black pill!" Mash reference)
Her facebook link is posted on the article page. Send her a sympathy note.
And the comments at the site.... whew!
Kind of like “unexpected” changes in unemployment numbers, national debt and recovery from the depression they caused.
They’re sorry. So sorry.
Dear Lord, please let this bite them in the behind. Big time.
Is there any portion of this program that is not built on a lie?
If you think healthcare is expensive now, just wait until it’s Free.
LOL. I heard a radio commercial earlier that said “mention this ad and you can get 20% off your free inspection”.
Even in NYS which has always had very high requirements for policies and should not have been a big hit to enroll in CACA © (Cant Afford Care Act) but she was faced with a huge premium hit for a higher deductible and higher co-pay!
It’s higher because this is how socialized medicine works. Everybody pays for a bunch of stuff they don’t need. The whole scheme is a confidence trick. Nothing more than a tax and middle class destroying wealth transfer.
This Administration can't tie their shoes without screwing up.
Oh, it's sorry alright.
On the bright side, she got every bit she deserves for voting for the incompetent jug eared smirking Muslim puke.
Even weirder-—I heard the dumbass chick being interviewed and in spite of the double screwover she doesn’t blame the Kenyan at all. Now she blames the state. Pretty much like the old starving Russians who just couldn’t believe it was Stalin starving them. Absolutely fascinating. How hard do you have to hit these dim/kenyan lovers behind the knees before the light comes on? Most of them will hold the nails while their coffin lid is being nailed shut.
Carney said that the White House “certainly as sorry as we can be that Jessica cant afford it” but that the law is still doing plenty of good. He also noted that Sanford still says she supports the Affordable Care Act and the president.
If she still supports this she’s an idiot and is getting what she deserves.
Eva, the 7,000 was a subset and they are all corrected now. There are good enrollments back to Oct 1. Here is the latest status report in .pdf form:
Where my free helfcare at?
What a beautiful statement.
